Hi,
I am planning an extension and need some help. I am building out a rectangular "garden" room, about 7.5m wide by 5m depth opening into the garden.
We are considering an open plan kitchen/dining/living room - whereby the kitchen would include an island to separate the spaces.
However, I would prefer to close out the kitchen area whilst cooking for aesthetics (ie containing the mess!) and smell reasons (we primarily cook indian sub-continent cuisine). I have seen some options on social media in other countries where there are folding windows or partition walls that fold into a kitchen cabinet so these can be opened for the social aspect, and closed when needed.
Has anyone come across this option being available in the UK? I have seen the moveable/partition walls, however they have gaps at the top/bottom where cooking smells can escape through.
Also open to other options that 'contain' the smells/greasiness of cooking whilst having the option to have an open plan area.
NB, i have considered the option for a heavy duty extractor already, but feel that something more is needed.
Thank you in advance,
thelivinghouse
