Comments (5)I like the grey and purple idea, Farrow and Ball Elephants Breath and Brassica would look great (see pic) or you could go more dramatic with Farrow and Ball Pelt as the room looks lovely and light, so could take strong colour. I think change the clock on the fireplace to a statement mirror and add some pattern with the soft furnishings. There's a bit of a French influence in the style of the console and there's a country feel to the fireplace, so for curtains maybe a check or ticking stripe, or if you want more French you could have damask or floral pattern, mix and match colour and patterns. Maybe add a rug to the new wood floor for a bit of texture....See Moreliving room layout ideas?
Comments (4)A little re-arranging and some soft furnishings will sort it all out. The sofa that you've chosen will unfortunately not do the room any favours. It's quite a bland colour. Maybe one of the Sofa Covers from Ikea would help? Certainly one two seater is not really enough seating to create a cosy area, so add in a contrasting armchair. Grey cover for the sofa with pretty much any accent colour will work, yellows, oranges, blues, teal, turquoise etc Ikea Sofa Covers . It may be awkward to get covers for your sofa as it has quite wide arms, therefore a throw and then accent cushions will help. Ikea also have a great range of those to choose from:- Add in a rug that matches your sofa colour and your accent colour, in the render i've used mustard and then turquoise for examples. Curtains that match on both windows, or a large curtain for the big window and a matching blind for the smaller one. Put the Table and Chairs up by the patio window and move the T.V area to the slightly darker, cosier end. Get a mirror for opposite the dining table to bounce light around, maybe a floor standing lamp too, and another smaller one for the sofa area? Add in artwork to make the sofa area cosier....See MoreLiving room furniture layout ideas?
Comments (8)Hi Lou, I'm struggling to find a pic of the 16x16 cube black IKEA book case, maybe because I'm in the metric system? Do you have a picture of it so that I can see how to incorporate it? Below is a first idea for style, on the basis of the photos you showed. I didn't know which colours you preferred so tell me if you like these (or not). The idea is to have your sofa + the bench act as the sofa with corner on the layout I drew you last week, and the peacock chair serve as the 1-seater. Your wooden screen divider can be used in the corner in front of your door, as in your 1st inspo picture. Great idea to hang a big necklace on it (as in the inspo picture), you can also hang a plant, or casually throw some nice fabric over it. The pouf (poufs, if you want more than 1) is quite practical because it can be used as a seat, a footrest, or a side table if you put a tray on it (example of a tray below). When you say cat tree do you mean something like this? (sorry for the stupid question, but I've never had a cat so I'm a little clueless about cat trees) Btw, does your cat lose hair? If yes, we might need to re-think the rug so that you don't need to run around with a vacuum all day... Let me know how this feel to you :) Mehdia...See MoreLiving Room Layout and Furniture Ideas Needed
Comments (3)Here you go, had to guess some of the dimensions of the apartment, but it's roughly correct, I think. Used the dimensions of your sofa. Used a 150 x 45 cm TV unit. Dining table 90 cm. Hope it helps. You have about 65-70 cm between the back of the sofa and the balcony door. My advise is to get creative with paper and/or tape and put the dimensions of your sofa down on the floor in the apartment. It will give you an idea of how much space it leaves to walk around. It's rather large for the size of the room, but I do like it and if you go for a light colour, it might just work. Try it out with paper or tape before you buy. You'll struggle to get that coffee table in there. I'd go for something smaller that you can easily put aside...See MoreKate
