Cooker hood between wall cabinets advice needed

last year

Basically i had 2 wall cabinets fitted todsy which have a 60cm gap between them…. and i mean 60 at a pish maybe just less…

my question is can i get a cooker hood to fit in between them? every site wickes b&q etc all there smallest says 60cm wide and im so worried 1. it doesnt fit because its too tight and 2. theres no gap on either side

Maybe put in a round ceiling mounted extractor that would add a really unique design feature. ὠ1

a 60cm hood will fit in a 600mm gap, in reality the hood is usually about 595 wide, but you won't have any gap at the extractors maximum points, with a chimney extractor, either stainless or with glass, its only a small section that is 595 wide. or you could choose an integrated extractor [which has a matching door to it to match your wall units] and that will fit in a 600 gap and you don't have any gaps either side to worry about. your designer should of gone through the extractor options, the sizes and the gaps with you

also be a good idea to decorate the gap before the extractor is fitted

looking at your photo, you also need to raise your slot in cooker before use, it should be level or higher than the worktop so you don't damage it.

Thanks for the reply OnePlan. I have a north facing kitchen which is why I chose the white gloss, if I go with a black hood will it retract from the goal I am trying to achieve? I need to bring as much light and reflection as possible into the kitchen. Thanks again.

Hi, Happy to have been of help! I have no personal experience with those 2 brands but thought it'd be wise to put a variety of price ranges so you could choose what suits your budget. If you are looking for a quality long term investment it may be worthwhile spending a little extra on the miele! With that said, sometimes the cheapest options are the quality ones (We purchased many high end electric showers with no luck but a more cheaper triton shower lasted for a good 5 years before we removed it to renovate). Wow your ceiling must be really, really low then ? Most extractors have to have a gap between 650mm to 760mm between the bottom of them and the hob part of the cooker - so in your case the lid should have clearance even if set at standard height, even if it’s an over depth appliance. What height is the ceiling ? Is the cooker going right into the corner ? Might be useful to have it 150mm from the corner,so you have a small clearance for pan handles on the left. There are other options than just getting a free generic design done... we offered a design service. We don’t sell any products, have no commissions coming in from anyone, so are totally focused on getting the design right to suit you ... then you shop around with that design and compare like for like - and buy from whomever you like best ! It’s not free, no. We have several levels of service , but even the most expensive is only about the cost of a good dishwasher, for most average sized kitchens. Echo what’s been said already and to add there are some that are either a tube ( approx 375 diameter I think ) and rectangle /square types approx 450/450/900 about too . Happy shopping !
