Farrow & ball to match Wickes heritage bone kitchen

Hi.
I would like to touchup my Wickes heritage bone kitchen & repaint the peninsula in a contrasting green. Firstly, has anyone found a F&B match for Wickes bone paint? Secondly any ideas for a contrasting colour? It is a bright kitchen so thinking it could take a card room green?

I too would suggest a green.

I have had Johnstones paint mixed to F&B colours and the match was excellent and much cheaper.

Agreed. Go to a trade centre they have the codes to mix a perfect colour match. The thing they can't achieve is the same chalky texture of F&B classic emulsions.

Might be time to call in someone to help onsite - F&B have colourists who visit - as do Laura Ashley and then there's a whole host of independent designers - the main issue, I believe, when you want to get a look that's the same in both rooms - is the light ... you probably will need two shades of the same colour - one lighter for the darker room and one darker for the lighter room - then they should give the same tonal feel from one room to the next ( speaking from experience in my own home - I'm a planning geek not a colourist !) I think that little Greene do shades of the same colours - and obviously dulux do - ie choose from the same paint sample card - but if you really can't find the right shade - I'd strongly suggest you ask for someone to come to see what light/dark situation you have and they can advise accordingly ! It will be worth the investment!!

Depending on how far you budget goes, I would look at adding traditional cornice and pelmet and replacing the plinth with a similar oyster colour. End panels for wall units could also be replaced / added. Some chessboard style tilling in 3 colours would also bring out the walls. It's hard to tell but is the oak surround also on the wall units? I haven't checked your location but this is something we can help with

Pity you have decided against glass in favour of tiles. We have just done our kitchen and I wanted an easy-to-clean surface for the splash back, so the rough surface of grouting around tiles, and also the indentations on some patterned tiles (which collect grease and grime) ruled them out for me! I went for glass, which the manufacturers matched exactly to the duck egg paint colour on the other walls (just gave them a product code of the paint), and although the initial outlay for the glass was expensive, the surface is so brilliant to keep clean and it looks fab as well. I would definitely recommend, and you could match it to, say, your lovely pink/purple ceiling lights ...

Thanks a lot to all of you for your input and advice! @KK1000 As you pointed out, there are some smaller pieces of furniture that does not really belong there - the two very old chairs and cabinet before the sofa (they simply ended up there) and make the room more crowded. The ceiling lights were a low budget option during last renovation. Thank you for the suggestions for replacemnt. It's something I will consider in a future (when budget and time allows). @Jonathan You hit the nail on the head - the room is indeed an obstacle course. I didn't had the courage to consider a layout change yet, but as you mentioned it inspired me to get the measurements of the room and furniture once I will visit my parents again. Actually that's the part which is for me much easier than choosing the colours and materials. There's no other room where we could move the sofa, but I can have a look whether it could be split in some way so we could change the configuration. When it comes to dark colours, I can appreaciate them, but I am afraid it is nothing for my parents. But F&B Bone and gentle dusky pink sound good to me. Thanks for your input and even making a plan! @rachelmidlands Those examples are really great! As I wrote also to Jonathan, I will now consider changing the room layout - thanks for pointing it out. Your idea to get colour inspiration from those rugs really makes sense. Pale dusky blueish grey with accents of dusky pink against light walls is a suggestion that could work for everyone in the family. May I ask you where are your examples from? I just would like to get more info about the wall paint used on those pictures (I know I have to test it in situ, but anyway). Thanks!

Johnstone's may be able to colour match your units if you take a piece of plinth or drawer front with you

A few years ago I had new wardrobes fitted and there was a small stair box which I needed to paint to match the wardrobes. I took the sample sheet to B&Q and they matched it with a Valpar paint. It was a perfect match.
