Floor plan ideas post extension
Comments (3)Daniel, If you can't think of a use for the space, why would you want to extend? There is a danger the property could become 'bottom-heavy' with not sufficient accommodation on the upper floors to warrant such a large ground floor, or possibly greatly compromise the garden. As you suggest the kitchen/breakfast room is already a good size, and supplemented by a dining room in addition to living room. The uses you may wish to consider for a potential extension are perhaps an office, playroom or utility. Regards, Simon...See MoreFloor plan (wrap around extension) - welcome your thoughts

Comments (10)Was offline for few days - thanks for all the valuable feedback. Man About Town - The measurements are as follows (from longest to shortest of the 3): 1.87m, 1.7m and 0.71m. Jen P - unfortunately we can't change the extension at this stage. Also would want to keep the window on the side elevation. Jonathan - thanks for your input and drawings. Some interesting ideas which we hadn't considered before including turning the stairs (do you know if this requires replacement of the whole staircase?). Ideally we want the current cloakroom area to be used as a boot room but not sure where else we can fit the shower room so any other ideas most welcome....See MoreIdeas on Floor Plans for house extension
Comments (6)I think the main bedroom is wide enough for a headboard wall and room to walk around it. Personally I wonder if the bathrooms are undersized, whether a four bed house with bigger bathrooms would be better, whether you will see a big RSJ cutting across your living room ceiling and if this could be reconsidered. I also think the dining room and kitchen space are undersized and the kitchen footprint seems no bigger than the original which begs the question about where fridges and ovens and storage will fit....See MoreAnne Interiors
