help can we create 2 doubles up here …

Is it possible to create an additional double bed by converting the mezzanine / knocking through up here?

Bed 2 has sloped ceilings either side so if it became a walk through / corridor it wouldn’t be suitable as a bedroom, do we think the mezzanine is big enough for 2 double bedrooms if split in two?

Any other ideas?

So much potential! The style to go for here is industrial & eclectic! Outhouse rooms - I'd use the outhouse rooms for storing your gardening equipment & bike cleaning gear. I'd get some cheap shelves from IKEA for storing stuff on. Bikes - You could get some hooks to hang your bikes on and use them as 'art' in your dining area, hang them in a symmetrical order, keep them clean and make retro signs up for whose bike goes on what hooks. Colours - I'd paint the blue doors and the back of the roller door in a soft charcoal grey. The floor I would paint in a dark charcoal as painting concrete makes it easier to sweep out. The green is already your main accent colour and is very fitting for an outdoor space. Wheelie bins - these are generally smelly so I'd keep them in the outhouse rooms and get some bin deodorizer. Buy a mix of different vintage wooden stools or chairs to give an eclectic industrial look Pots - I'd keep the plants to a couple of well looked after large tubs and keep either side of the roller door. These could be on moveable trolleys so they're easy to move if necessary. Finishing Touches - This is the fun part! Some rustic candelabras for the table, outdoor wall clock with Roman numerals, artwork could be a collection of vintage street signs, string of outdoor lights wrapped around the beams (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/37-5-Foot-S14-Outdoor-Globe-String-Lights-Set-of-25-S14-Clear-Edison-Bulbs) These are just some ideas - have fun & enjoy!

Just be aware (and you may know this already), drum kits upstairs can be very difficult for those sitting downstairs. I'm not talking about the general drumming noise but the base pedal. When our kids are using it upstairs it sounds like they are going to come straight through the ceiling. We have sold up and have bought a house with concrete floors. On other subject, size of bedrooms is just as important to some people as number of bedrooms. I would knock through. Alternatively, is there room for a platform bed/mezzanine?

We had the same dilemma and opted for a slightly larger main a Jack and Jill bathroom and used the slightly smaller double as a massive walk in wardrobe (a future owner could use the room as another double bedroom but for us the space for clothing was much better as a solution than a spare room that would rarely be used). Due to the eaves the hanging room is limited in a loft so better and cheaper to use drawers and hanging rails under the eaves for storage (rather than bespoke wardrobes) which meant it being on show so we wanted it in a separate room to our sleeping area....it's a wonderful haven now and we love it...hope that helps - to see a walk through.....

First of all removing all the stuff that doesn't belong in a living room will help. The living room feels like a closed off space because it looks so different compared to the dining room and kitchen. Everything is white and has a nice tiled floor. I would suggest continuing with this in the living room or you could put the wallpaper from the dining room in the living room as well. Having a floorplan would help when designing the space, but I'll try my best without a floorplan. Where the fireplace goes I would suggest letting someone make a custom cupboard. You can hang the tv on the space above that cupboard and make that the tv station. I would remove the sofa from the wall and move it closer to the "fireplace". Add a nice carpet and a coffeetable. Add a floor lamp and pick a different light fixture. If you want you can also create a seperate reading nook. I hope this helped.
