Help for bedroom window dressing please!!
Hi folks,
I am trying to think how to dress the below bedroom window. The room is to be plastered and painted F&B All White, with the coving and popcorn ceiling removed. The room is east facing, so gets morning sun, ie we definitely need something to block the light, but during the day want the full view.
The blinds there at present are just temporary and even though they’re black out, lots of light gets in around the edges, so I don’t think blinds will be enough. Could combine with curtains or go for shutters or…?
If shutters, what colour with aluminium windows? If curtains, fabric suggestions would be great! You can see we have blue and white theme going on.

Comments (23)HI MARINA, I love your bedroom- great high ceilings. Your furniture is also nice. I would follow the lead from the furniture keeping all furniture white. I love tropical coastal style. I would put up a white ceiling fan and ikea sell some white nets that let in loads of light and give privacy. I would decorate the walls in an off white with a hint of pink in it for warmth and to bring out the tones in your beautiful floor. I would collect local art for the walls. I would go to town on the bedding and cushions for the bed. I would mix your favourite colours- turquoise, teal, with green and coral. Making the room have a tropical coastal beach hotel vibe. I would feel like I was on holiday every day and never want to leave. Once you've surrounded yourself with personal things like photo frames of loved ones, plants/ flowers etc, you will feel right at home and settled. I've loved decorating for years, and tried lots of colours on walls but recently I've returned to off whites as they are so flexible and you can change the look with coloured accessories regular. Comments (6)I like the double roller blind idea. I wouldn't go for curtains on two and something different on the middle as I think they'd look better all matching. Comments (9)Architect is your key. they are a bit like therapists. you need to find one you can work with. I used a commercial architect once before for a preformed concrete building. that was a decent 10 years ago. I think my preference would be solid panel shutters, but I agree a key question would be how thick they will be when fully folded back. In this picture from Shutterly Fabulous, they don't look like they would block the window view much...
Our window is considerably wider that that of course (175cm wide), so it would have multiple panels presumably? Also, what colour do you think? Blue?
Otherwise, I think the blind with side tracks will have to do, though hopefully they make the side tracks in a similar colour to the actual window (i.e. anthracite grey!)? If anyone knows of any, please let me know!

last monthI can’t see the cushions properly but they look like William Morris? Maybe you could look at the willow pattern which comes in different blues? i also like the flax which may tie in with the carpet. Perhaps add a little more of the blue in different stripes for more cushions and throws? i know zara have a number of striped linens but can’t recall the colours but there are quite a lot around
