Hi there, Welcome to Houzz! When you save images, you save them to Ideabooks. To access these, head to 'Your Houzz' (the icon in the top right of the screen) and select 'Ideabooks' from the tab at the top of the page. When you click on this tab you'll see all the Ideabooks you've created and the photos you've saved to them (see screenshot). Hope that helps!

A real aged wood floor like yours can be a beautiful feature; mine looked like attached after thorough sanding and varnishing (that picture taken nine years after the work). If you want to preserve the classical / original style of the flat - start with keeping the floor really! It's possible to whitewash it (just apply limewash after sanding/cleaning) but it being softwood (pine), a few hard varnish coats afterwards may still be useful to protect it. Unless major structural work touches that floor... would really try to keep it. Mine had to go, structural work underneath, and woodworm...the one thing I'm really sad I lost.

For me, it was a hard pick between the open plan kitchen and the staircase but if I had to go with one, I'd side with the kitchen. The deep teal and pale blue units pair beautifully and tie with the splashback, and vases. The added gold accents in handles, vase and tap adds some lovely metallic colour to the scheme which looks oh, so good with the teal. And finally, I love how the door frame co-ordinates with the light fitting and the socket on the island with the ovens. Superb, daring yet effective combinations!!!

I think I’m struggling to see the usefulness of a peninsula personally. We are a family of 4 so wouldn’t all be able to sit at it, or even as a 3 while one is cooking. The other disadvantage I see is it doesn’t seem to offer an awful lot of additional counter space. We have a decent length to the room so could extend the counter further if we had to, rather than having a peninsula break the clean line......Personal preference I just can’t take to them. Jonathan - I do love the depth idea, gives a real sense of style and practicality, especially the first picture!.....Thank you. Sonia thank you for the image of your kitchen, as you say at 1.2m that does look snug still so it is hard to imagine less than that gap between a counter and an island! I think the only way I could achieve it is if I made sure things like fridge an oven we’re not in it’s direct path Again thanks for for the advice, keep it coming 👍🏻
