Straw insulated walls and wall mounted taps
Comments (4)I am currently renovating a house and have hit many snags along the way. As my dad always tells me 'Anything is possible'. We had problems fitting the shower to the wall as there was nothing behind the plaster board and tiles for the screws to affix to (I imagine that's the same problem you will have with straw). So, we left it, went away and had a think, came back, tried a few thinks, till Ureka! All it took were a few specialist rawl plugs and screws. It took a few days to sort out, but we are just DIYers and were not in a particular rush. If you're paying someone to do it, it should be a doodle, as OnePlan says....See MoreBrushed gold or brass finish taps
Comments (34)I agree with everything that's been said. I am looking for exactly the same sort of finish for a bathroom retrofit - going for a wet room. I did find this fabulous range in 'Champagne Bronze' finish: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/collections/trinsic-bathroom-collection and- https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/T17T459-CZH2O BUT the (Canadian, I think) company do not deal with UK at all. The Yemen is on the list of countries where they have dealers, but not GB! I did email Delta Faucet but they never replied. You do see this range sometimes on eBay and Amazon. They are a bit pricey though and shipping costs are high, also my plumber cannot figure out if the range is compatible with our pipes/electrics/technicalities etcetc So, wake up UK plumbing companies!...See MoreTap placement advice
Comments (12)From my experience, a wide spout does not splash at all. We have one mounted say 4 inches above the bath on a wall. However, given the style of tap and shower head combo you have chosen, I now don’t think a spout would work placed directly underneath. In our main bathroom, we have a filler and it is as fast as a tap. It doesn’t fill from the bottom though. It’ a combination filler / overflow, so you do get the flowing water with this. If you look at the photos on Houzz for something like “feature bath” you can see what other people have done. There are quite a lot of asymmetrical or side by side layouts of taps / spouts etc which work well....See Morehelp with bathroom taps!
Comments (19)Thank you guys for your helpful advice and comments. Chloe yes I love wall mounted taps too, we are definitely getting wall mounted for bath but I don’t think we can for basin as it’s an external wall so unless a plumber can do something very clever we’d probably have to put some extra studwork in there which would reduce the width of the room which we can’t do unless we made the shower smaller than a 900x900 quadrant which we also don’t want to do! I love the crosswater brushed brass taps, but I can’t seem to find a tall basin mixer tap version of the range, and we need a tall mixer tap as we’d love a countertop basin. It’s so frustrating when the companies don’t do all the different types of tap for that range, some of them I find don’t do showerhead versions either so you can’t match it all up!...See Moreperkvalvaag
