Comments (3)I clicked on this because in the picture, with the lighting, it looked like they were painted magenta and orange and I actually thought they looked stunning! You could play with depth by creating an ombre effect so the nearest one to the entrance is a dark shade and the furthest one is a light shade, with the others graduating between them. Comments (2)Hi, you can use heatgun for it, it is very slow process but rewarding, you have to make sure that you not going to burn the wood, give a little heat and strip the paint off, or you can try paint remover.....See Moredo i paint black beams white?
Comments (2)Hello, Shot-blasting (AKA sandblasting) the beams will bring back the natural warmth of the wood, which matches perfectly with the red brick, the natural tones within the wood once treated post blasting will bring a level of depth to the room, and brighten it up making the space feel larger too. The natural 'sandy' undertones of the wood will blend well with a country theme, and even a more contemporary scheme. Choosing to white wash/ totally repaint to white will certainly allow more light to reflect throughout the space, giving a brighter, airier feel to the room. It really depends on the scheme (look) you would like to go with. A country, classical warm homely feel would be better with the natural wood. A more contemporary or a more chic, luxury scheme may benefit more from the white. Think about what furniture/ accessories you have for the room, and how they will work with either the natural or white. I hope this was helpful. Comments (15)Thank you for your comments they are really helpful, as you say it may be best to stay with one colour for the moment. There will eventually be a high table in the kitchen so it can double as a prep table. The first attached photo is the look I found originally that I liked..simple but warm, I just want black as a detail rather than being too dominant. My windows are light timber inside (so the view is the most important aspect) they are black aluminium outside. The second is a photo of slightly darker ceiling that got me thinking.
