Miele downdraft induction hob - duct out or recirculate?

Hi,
We are mid-way through a kitchen extension and have ordered a Miele downstraft induction hob (similar to a Bora).
We have ordered the recirculating model, but have been told that this will mean (or might mean?) we need to have a fan installed in the wall to meet building regs. We are laying a new floor so we have the option to install ducting and duct the extraction out rather than recirculating.
Did anyone else have to install a wall fan if they recirculated their air, and does anyone have any experience with ducting out rather than recirculating.
Ben
