North Facing living room

We have a modern looking North Facing Living room and I'd like to use Dulux Perfectly taupe on one wall. It would look lovely against perfect white but I know this isnt a good colour for a NF room. What white/neutral would you advise? Thanks

It does look a lovely shade but I agree it may look a little muddy for a north facing room. Have you looked at Egyptian Cotton? It has a warmth to it.

We have a north east facing room which we’re in the middle of knocking into another room to make a sort of morning sitting room. As the dining room end was already painted in Egyptian Cotton, and there was some paint left over, temporarily we’ve just used it to make the whole space more cohesive until we change the kitchen and it will all be painted over. Hopefully these photos will demonstrate how the light affects it. I find it very drab and dull in the dining area, but much fresher where the sofa is, as there are french doors not just a window. I’ve used Perfectly Taupe in a previous house, in a similarly orientated room, and much prefer it!

We need @Juliet Docherty! I would say grey is not the best choice for a north facing room, but you can add more warmth with more accessories. The little bit of room we can see needs more art and accessories. It looks a little bare. As the walls are quite high, I think the picture needs to be put up on the wall? The wall above the ladder could do with something too, like a clock, or more art, or shelves. Perhaps adding some wood will warm it up too, eg side table, shelves on the other wall. Or some brass. It’s just a bit hard to advise with such a tiny part of the room in the picture.

I have looked at Egyptian cotton but I'm not keen on the yellowness. The Taupe would only be on one wall and its a warm colour so I think it will look nice in the Room but I don't know what neutral to pair it with.

I would just go for a paler taupe with a red underrone, this is mindful by Coat. Dulux also do a pale taupe but doesn't look as warm on screen. They also pair it with a more pink one which won’t look as pink in your light
