POLL: What do you think of Pantone's colours of the year 2016?
Comments (78)Thanks to all for the laugh out loud - literally - enjoyment in this latest banter. I do love this forum so much! If anyone thinks they can't wear a particular colour take a look at Zandra Rhodes!!!...See MorePOLL: What is the main colour of your kitchen?
Comments (11)I have ticked 'grey' although I have kitchen units in three different colours in my fairly new kitchen-diner - lamp-room grey with an oak worktop housing a double Belfast sink, graphite grey with a pale granite worktop on the peninsular unit and alabaster (rich creamy colour) with the same oak worktop opposite the peninsular unit and for the doors of the walk-in larder and utility cupboard (no space for a utility room!) and the oven housing. The oak worktops have been treated with four coats of Osmo Polyx-oil, which I think is a fantastic product and has protected the worktops perfectly. The flooring is mock limestone laminate and I'm delighted with how the whole room looks....See MorePOLL: What frustrates you most in the kitchen?
Comments (34)Oh, those water stains. I so agree - aa interior design. I moved less than a mile but the water marks in my new home were astonishingly bad compared with before. By chance, Thames Water rang the bell one day to run a water test which showed that water here is the hardest it is possible to be. He explained that, despite moving such a short distance, my water comes from a different reservoir. I couldn't stand it and decided I had to get a water softener. It cost a lot but I can't tell you how liberating it is not to have to spend so much time cleaning, cleaning, cleaning or wiping, wiping, wiping just to manage or get rid of scale and scum. I really recommend it. It's also great knowing that my washing machine, dishwasher, radiators and pipes won't get bunged up and ought to function well for a long time. It took a while to get used to the feel of soft water but I now love it and can't imagine I'd ever not want a water softener again, if I were to move. Comments (4)With eyes closed I am not sure it makes a difference...even when I wake multiple times a night the room is dark, so the colour of the room irrelevant The lights are dimmed on going to bed so even if it were a bright room (which it is not), I wouldn't suffer any glare. Serious seep issues cannot be solved by something as simple as a colour change sadly....See MoreMichelle
