Small WC - tile full height or just half way with border/edging???
Comments (6)I would suggest only half height tiling. There is no practical reason to tile any higher and it would be rather oppressive with tiles floor-to-ceiling. A small space such as this, where you will not be spending significant lengths of time, is an opportunity to be rather brave (where, in a larger space, it would look too 'busy'. Comments (16)As I've got such great commenters on here :) can I get your thoughts on something else please (this room is proving somewhat problematic!). the room is really narrow so I'm looking at this concrete sink, albeit a bit bigger than shown, which will sit on a steel vanity I'm having made (although the basin will also be wall supported). The basin is 350mm deep however the taps I've found that are in budget project 200mm. What are your thoughts both aesthetically and practically? Ideally I think the tap should probably sit in the middle of the sloped part. Btw, it only took 5 years but I finally realised that the rest of the shower room floor had been raised.......See MoreFinishing ideas for narrow shower room extension
Comments (6)Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Have been thinking long and hard about it. We’ve revisited the shower position and we do want to keep that where it is with some waterproof shutters for the sake of modesty, helped by the fact we are up a slope from the road, and nothing above single story opposite. The WC space is a good question. We’ll continue to think on that. The current utility space is incredibly cramped and will become walk in storage, a kind of hybrid larder/vacuum cleaner space. Would love to remove a wall in there but that’s a huge job as it’s holding up the stairs! Anyway, thanks for challenging our ideas. Always good to go over everything again and we’ll no doubt continue to do so until work begins! Well, hopefully not that late in the day... In this layout, you can always exchange the ideas of the dining area and the seating area as your mood changes from seasons. This layout, if you add 2 chandeliers in both hanging down from lounge and seating area in a line, the people from the front outside window, will see the chic design from towards the bak all the way.
