looking for renovation/floor plan ideas for awkward ground floor

Hi there, looking for some advice on reconfiguring and linking awkwardly placed double garage (it's at the back of the house with no access by any size car :). I would like to get additional bedroom in the process and ideally boot/utility room. Got some plans drafted, but they place the utility/boot room in a space, where it would make the rest of the space really dark and narrow. Plus I don't think we would be allowed to have a new window and door placed, as this is the side facing our neighbours. Also, I think we would like to keep access to garden somehow, and these plans don't allow that. Finally, can't have the whole garage for kitchen/diner, as part of it must remain as a "man-cave" workshop and to store a lot of tools and freezer for dogs' food (this is also a wall that is touching the garden (we have a slope in the garden and currently that wall of a garage serves also as a retaining wall.

How would you suggest to reconfigure it in the light of all of the above, please?
