Design Dilemma entrance Home Decorating

Hi I need ideas on how to furnish this entry room.

This is the first room you enter from the front door. The opposite walls are not the same length. I already have a formal living room right of this entry. The opening by the french doors is a tv/entertainment room. Please help.

I would opt for a large storage piece along the right wall. This could be anything from an armoire to a sideboard with a mirror above. You would also have room for a large pedestal round table in the middle to display florals or a potplant or two. If you have sockets I would think about table lamps and a rug perferably circular to soften all the straight lines and add lightness.

I think the mirror would be better placed where you have the clock so it reflects the light coming from the living room and if you have a console with lamps on the living room wall oposite it would refect evening lights. You could have seating where the large mirror is currently a small sofa or bench with a picture above or mural wallpaper

My flat re-furb has progressed much since my last post - thank you all input. I have another dilemma which is to do with wall dressing for my hallway. Hi. Personally I'd put a slatted room divider (just the unit width) at the end of the sink run to allow light and zone the kitchen area slightly. (I will try and find a picture showing the same in a similar kitchen). Assuming the fridge isn't staying, I'd just buy a white one so it blends in, maybe like a retro style one as they look a bit prettier. I'd also opt for a round table. You could paint the wall (and rad) behind the table a darker/warmer colour and add art. Hang the light low over the table to zone it and maybe have a mirror or mirror tiles on the left wall. You could also consider acrylic chairs as they don't visually fill the space. I'd go for a wider curtain pole to maximise light coming in. Sofa, choose something on legs with narrow arms, being able to see the floor will make the room bigger and maximise seating. I also wouldn't choose anything dark as it could take over the room, just use dark/warm colours for cushions and throw if wanted. There are plug in wall lights around which won't take up any floor space. I don't know if you need storage but you should be able to fit a sideboard between the dining and living area? Re shopping suggestions, you don't have any ideabooks set up so could you give people an idea of styles and colours you like?

Hi. So is it a modern coastal look that you're after? In terms of practicality does the room need to cope with people coming in with with surfboards and sand everywhere etc or not?! I don't know if I'd put the console etc where you put the chairs as it seems more practical for keys post etc and maybe the sofa where you put the console or in the middle of the curved wall? Is the curved wall measurement also correct? It seems longer but could be wrong!

Hmm... It's a bit difficult without knowing the dimensions of all the walls. My first instinct is to put bookcases in the corner to the right of the entrance? That would free up the wall between the two sets of doors for a big movie screen or TV, sofa opposite perhaps. And it gives that corner a purpose. Maybe you have space for a games table, like a football or snooker table. Bar?

I would style it as a room rather than a corridor and add seating.

Depending on your storage needs I have two ideas:

1 - Put a wardrobe against the right hand wall for coats and most used shoes etc, a small armchair in from of the mirror, small sofa on the left with an oversized round side table for a plant and keys dish/tray. Wide rug in the middle.

2 - Long sofa/bench on the right, console table/sideboard below the clock for plant, table lamps etc. Big rug in the middle.

I quite like the idea of adding a coat rack/ wardrobe to the space - it will fill it nicely and make it more functional. Aesthetically I think a sideboard with some lamps on it would probably look better and less in your face as some wardrobes can in a smallish space
