Help with colour selection in new bathroom

Hello, we've got a new bathroom, as pictures below, grey units, white tiles/grey grout and a darker shower area. Floor is dark grey with flecks of gold.

We originally thought teal would be nice but on painting it everybody hated it (pictures below) as it didn't quite go and went against everything in the rest of the house, so we were after something not so bold and more blends with the greys but adds a bit of colour.

We thought taupe would be ok, then added some greens.

Can anyone with better eye for design/colour help with ideas, either one of these or something completely different? We are putting in all new accessories so using those as the main colour is also a choice too...

I think the teal is too bright for the room but appreciate that you would like to add some colour. A pale greeny grey would blend with the grey but add softness. What colour accessories are you planning to add? Farrow and Ball has some lovely shaded whites. Shadow White or one in that line of shaded whites. I always prefer colour added with towels and accesories like baskets as it's easy to change. I think you might do better with a warmer colour like Dimity or Setting Plaster (F&B) rather than a cold blue. A plant or two always looks great with grey.

The teal is too bright. There are some lovely teals more like your tile samples, ones that have a bit of grey or black in them that tones it down and softens the whole effect. Something like F&B De Nimes or Oval Room Blue. However I think a simple pale grey like Dulux Goose Down or a darker charcoal grey would sit very nicely, then as Isla suggests, add some colour with towels in maybe mustard yellow, green or a grey geometric as below.

That makes absolute sense. We're going vinyl but cheap and it needs to be boarded but a friend is doing that. If it rips we can then replace really cheaply. Yes, a mirror is a must as the window is quite small with obscured glass. We only moved last year but the en suite didn't appear to have ever been used. It's nice but with porcelain tiles that are a nightmare to keep clean. We got lucky with the bathroom. Fittings are quite old but it's wood panelled all round with a cast iron bath and a couple of sash windows. It did have yellow walls and a dark green bath but I painted the bath black with elephants breath on the panelled walls. I'm going to repaint the walls though as it's not a real wow and it could be. I'm just working up to it though as painting wood panels is not an easy task!

Hi. I'm a bit confused, have you bought the vanity and are looking to paint it? Is the rest of the bathroom fitted as you could add brass or copper taps for instance with a matching mirror? Accessories will also warm it. I like a little wooden stool in a bathroom which you can add accessories to i.e. A candle, natural sponge, flannel etc which has some texture. A plant on the window sill if you have one and then nice accessories for the sink and either some coloured towels or I like hammam ones. I've found a couple of pics but they may not post as houzz has issues :( These are using deep rich colours which may bring the cabinet towards you a little. A darker top for the vanity would also work

If space is your priority, perhaps the second toilet would be better? What brand is it, btw? I will eventually be redoing a bathroom (had planned to do it this year, but gas price rises have made me decide to install a wood burner instead). Really like the shape of this second toilet and it looks like it would be so easy to clean.
