Tiles vs splashback help please
Comments (13)In my opinion the hexagon will also be a little lost because it is all white and with your wall cabinets you won’t see the top edges. Because you have so much white I think this is where your heart is. I encourage you to try colour but in a way that can be changed later- this means that you should add the color in paint. For you I think you should put a plain white tile or glass splash back behind the hob and sink and the paint the walls in a wipeable Matt paint of your choice. I like your blue idea to match the next room but be careful about choosing anything too cold. Since little wall will be showing I would love to see a bold color such as Farrow and Balls Stone Blue as I think it will frame the pale cabinets and make them stand out....See MoreHelp with a tiling query please!
Comments (11)Thanks for all your comments. I have gone with an unfinished edge like Rukmini's pictures (sorry Sonia :D) as I think it will just look a bit more interesting especially against a dark navy wall. I have tiled around the window but not into the window recess. I'm pleased with how it looks so far - will try to remember to post a pic of the finished room!...See Morewhere to tile up to on high ceiling bathroom
Comments (30)@Nicola M (Nicola) well we went to a new local tile shop the other day and she persuaded me to stick with the giant tiles, but still tiling them as brickwork effect. I saw an amazing concrete one that was a nice colour, wasn't patchy but was out of our budget (£40sqm)!! eek. My OH just said to order them as he knows how stressed I have been trying to find something I like, LOL. There were some other lovely ones but in the wrong shape ie 600's which I don't like on the wall personally. I haven't ordered them yet but they are typically special order so I my tiler is coming to measure today so I can be sure to have enough. Hence my questions about where to tile to as we are trying to save money, haha. I was going to do the floor as well so it all runs through but I think it will need some pattern/oomph in the room with all grey tiles. These are the ones in the Gris colour. They have lovely veining running through them which I like. https://www.geotiles.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/CATALOGO-CARNABY-Baja.pdf...See MoreBathroom with sloping ceiling areas - where to tile up to?
Comments (9)Just my view for most practical approach: Tile wall behind loo and sink up to window sill height only. Wall along length of bath tile up to height of showerhead and continue around onto shower head wall. Tiled skirting around remaining walls (neater and better for mopping) and paint everything else. Unless the tiling is the key design feature of a bathroom, I always prefer to keep it as minimal as possible - cheaper, quicker and less messy. Paint colour is easier to change if you feel like it, tiling isn't....See More- last month
