What colour should I paint my dressing room door?

Hi, I've just given my dressing room panelling a coat of dusky pink paint which I love 💜. I was going to paint the door a light grey like the wardrobes, but now wondering if I should paint it the same colour as the panelling. The ceiling, upper walls, radiator and window shutters are white. The flooring will be oak effect laminate. What do you think? I can't decide.

Another vote for white here. A door is not a feature, it's functional.

It's a pleasure, I'd say a Jasmine white or almond white. The lightness will really bring out that beautiful floor. This will give the room a lift and a light airy feel, the light will bounce off the red tiles giving the walls a warm tone.

It sounds like you have plenty of natural light coming in so should be fine with most things. I think the blue all over would be a little too much with north light - making it feel a little cool. I would go with the suggested half and half which will also lift the height a making it feel more open. With the blue itself I would try to go for something with as warm an undertone as possible.. same with any whites you choose. If they have blue or grey undertones they will feel a look more drab with the specific light that's hitting them. It sounds like you're going to have a fab space! :)

I would avoid painting the whole room this colour, it is very dark. The conservatory takes some light away anyway, so it's not the lightest room. Inchyra Blue is a blue/green, desaturated and dark colour. You could try a blue/green, desaturated slightly light version, it may work better. Here it is on one wall: And here is Oval Room Blue in a different room that looks dimly lit: They look similar due to the amount of light the room naturally receives.

I live in a similar era house. Are you not actually allowed to change the window colour or is it that you don't want them to stand out? I think that black windows would look better so the darker the better. For me the first thing that had to go on my house was the square browns guttering. We changed ours to black and our painted the woodwork underneath the guttering black and it dragged it forward by twenty years. I know this isn't the answer to your question but I thought I would mention it as I have a similar era house.

Thanks for clarifying. I think I was getting over excited by the pink 🤭. I'll stick with my original plan of light grey like the wardrobes.
