New kitchen diner advice and inspiration please?
Comments (2)This kitchen layout could be better. I think the peninsula is a barrier that restricts the room available. I think if this were mine I would take down the wall between kitchen and dining room, have a long kitchen island with seating at one end. I think I might swap the kitchen window for doors to the garden....See MoreNeed design inspiration for a kitchen/diner in an old farmhouse
Comments (2)This sounds exciting! Metro tiles would be a great choice for a splashback as they can look both modern & traditional depending on the rest of the room....See Morekitchen diner inspiration needed
Comments (5)Hiya, What about something like this for over the dining table https://www.made.com/albert-cluster-pendant-lamp-muted-grey-dusk-blue-duck-egg - and a large piece of artwork for the wall between the two french windows - Desenio do some fantastic funky art prints and provide frames too a little bit away from standard high street things but with really reasonable prices. I would pop a faux plant in a pot, about 110-120cm high (including the pot height beside your sofa for some greenery on the right- this always balances a room beautifully I find. Homescapes and Blooming artificial are great sources for these. A roman blind sitting over the window would soften that room slightly and give you some texture which would look fabulous. I would stagger artwork on the sofa wall or add a mirror to bounce some light around and make the room feel really airy. What about a little side table -(Tradesecret are fabulous for sourcing really reasonable, good quality pieces) underneath the television, with an ornament or vase to finish it off? You could also add a couple of shallow floating shelves in a natural wood finish to echo your dining table where you could place your candle sticks and photo frames too -on the wall to the right of the sofa above the radiator. Hope this help and gives you food for thought, the blue curtains are a stunning colour! The sofa is fabulous! Good luck!...See MoreKitchen / Diner Layout ideas please!
Comments (32)Hi!, as a furniture/kitchen designer for over 30 years I try to come to the clients with a complete open mind. I ask the question that I need to understand how you live and want to live 10 years from now 15 years from now and so on. It's vital to open the time conversations as often families consider that as it is, is how we plan and build. When in reality we all age together and we all keep moving, of we are lucky to be healthy and able. So! Starting from that prospective I'll build a picture based on first the practicals.... How many people living in the house ? Age profile? Special food needs? How do you like to cook Range or oven & hob? 6.Have you a preference of sinks? ie Belfast sink or undermounted sink? Have you a thought on boiling water taps? What's your opinion on worktops? Quartz, Granite, wood, Corian, laminate? After that it down to the nicer things. What colours, textures and layout work best. After that it's lighting and that's a life if its own....See More- last month
