Comments (5)Hello Pippa, Yes Minnie's right.. Calming colours that naturally compliment like several shades of 1 colour...So you may like a particular shade like pink for example and see colour variations below.. From Little Greene in this case... So a varying degree of colour that compliments and accents for the walls and wood work.. Chalky and matt are best... Then you can add complimentary and contrasting tones for bedding soft furnishings like pale greys or silvers with white linens.. or stone colours and woods.. Keep flooring light and paint the ceiling a lovely warm colour like Whitening by LG again.. If you're laying flooring with rugs, keep to a similar colour, that way the floor looks expansive rather than defined.. Mood lighting with table lamps or wall lighting.. with soft warm white bulbs gives a calm and warm light as opposed to bright white and from a central single pendant.. : ) )...See Morekitchen ideas to add colour.
Comments (15)Thanks all again for the comments. I`ve bought some herb pots for £20 and that adds some colour. . Something you dont see on houzz is the daily mess , so havent shown it all. caro7342: The kitchen is 4.5m long and the island is 1.9m. I really wouldnt want to go any less that that. I probably wish we`d added 20-30cms to the island as it can get a bit full at times but its adequate. The worktop we had a bread bin to start with and it took up too much room , so thats in a deep drawer now and helps. Again, i wouldnt want the main worktop to be any less, its 2.4m. hope that helps....See Moreneed help with how to furnish this space
Comments (6)I would say you’re nearly there. I think it’s quite usual to have a crisis of confidence at this stage! I think the table needs changing - the wood doesn’t work with the floor and there’s no other wood in the room. It also looks a bit lost there. Maybe a rug to anchor it might help although personally I’m not a fan of dining tables on rugs but something is needed. For me, the door being the same colour as the wall makes it more difficult as it’s such a long bare space without anything really to divide it up. So I think a sideboard / storage (maybe tall storage) along the wall to the right of the door would be good, with a mirror / artwork above if a sideboard. Some artwork behind sofa plus either tall floor lamp or floor standing plants would help. The kitchen area looks good so I don’t think anything major is needed there. You could consider some window treatment, even if just decorative to add some warmth to the space. We didn’t have any curtains or blinds on the windows / doors along the back of our bungalow for 2 years after renovating as we weren’t overlooked but when we finally chose some, it instantly made the space feel more cosy & homely, so maybe something to consider....See Morekitchen modifications
Comments (2)TBH if you want it to look streamlined and for the amount of appliances you have then I think you need to consider integrated appliances so they're all hidden. If all the below worktop appliances are all from the same manufacturer/series and colour then that would help and if all the gaps are the same but to be really streamlined I'd want to integrate/hide them. If the room was larger then you could consider hiding you appliances in cupboards and have extra deep 660 wide worktops. This would work for your washer and dryer but your dishwasher and fridge freezer would still be on show....See More- 16 days ago
