A little help with choosing the right carpet and matching wall paints

Greetings to the forum

I am colour blind therefore no good at interior design and would really appreciate and value any help. I have a sofa in mind for my living room and I now need to find paint for my walls and a carpet to match. The sofa I have in mind is here http://www.dfs.co.uk/sofa-beds-corner/lhf-2-piece-pillow-back-corner-deluxe-sofa-bed-malibar my walls are very high 11.5 ft and the wall dimensions are 2×16ft 2×12ft walls with a south facing bay window where I intend putting one of these http://www.dfs.co.uk/fabric-corner-sofas/large-swivel-chair-malibar-100050330p—1 I would like to keep my coffee table’s and tv & stereo unit which can be seen here http://www.livinghomes.co.uk/shop/shopexd.asp?id=2235&bc=no then basically it is a clean canvas.

Could anyone suggest some paint colours that might match and also ideas on a carpet, I’d also like the carpet to run through the rest of my flat so a neutral plain would be ideal.

i'm not sure of paint colors, but for the carpet, i would do something with a gray-ish tone. maybe with flecks of darker browns.

as for exact names and brands, perhaps one of these?

the second isn't speckled, but it's a very nice quality carpet, and will last a long time.

if you can bring in any fabric swatches to the stores, the associates there should be able to help you pick out something that will work well. even just showing them the photos from the links will help.

Would a light grey and a dark brown paint work with this or would this be too much? I would have the south and north facing walls done in the light grey and the two smaller east and west walls in a darkish brown?

Ok I think I have found some colors to choose from.

I was thinking this color ( http://www.farrow-ball.com/brinjal/colours/fcp-product/100222#) for wall 2 & 4
And this color ( http://www.farrow-ball.com/charleston-gray///fcp-product/100243) for wall 1 & 3

I then thought that might be too dark so I then moved to these colors:

Firstly do you agree on which walls hold the colors or do you think I should have contacting walls hold the colors i.e. Walls 1 & 2 the darker color and walls 3 & 4 the lighter. The sun comes through the window most of the day with it being a south facing window and in the morning sunrises on wall 4 and sets on wall 2.
Secondly do you think I am on the right tracks with these colors and a similar carpet to what yoboseiyo suggested.
