Please help me rearrange my tiny bedroom

I have a tiny room and I feel like i am not maximising the space that i have as much as possible. Please help me rearrange it. It would be of great help! I want to leave a significant amount of my wall blank as i would like to have a projector. Also planning to add a full length mirror somewhere if possible. At the moment the set up i have doesn't have much flow and is quite random. I would love to have a cozy room but not seem cramped. My mum is also very superstitious when it comes to feng shui and as much as possible doesn't want me to put my bed feet facing directly the door. 🤦🏻‍♀️ please help, thank you

@Isla Cherry the vanity stool does not tuck under completely as it has an arched back rest. it’s actually this small dining table and chair that I use as a vanity. as you can see i’ve just turned the table to the side and it also has that rail on its side that stops the chair from being tucked it let alone the shape of the back rest. Only few of my coats are on the clothes rail and they are the ones I use quite often. for now i’ve managed to stick the clothes rail behind the door although the door wont open completely. perhaps i can replace it with some wall hooks or a wall mounted rail instead. I’ve also turned the bed to have more privacy?

I also try and practice the basics of Feng Shui and have done for many years and in 5 different houses so far. There is too much furniture in the room. Is there anything you could do without? The bed needs air around it and clear space. First think about what you could remove? Clothes storage is essential. Could you lose the folding table and the laundry basket for a start? You could maybe squeeze the laundry basket behind the door so its not visible and doesn't take up its own space like a feature? Could your bed turn through 90 deg and rather sit on the wall where the vanity is currently? The wardrobe and clothes rail could move to where the bed is currently situated. If you can use sketchup just play with the layout until it works. If not make a scale plan and paper cutouts of bed, clothes rail, vanity etc and move them around till it works. Agree 100% about your feet not in line with the door, very bad FS. You also need a solid wall behind your bed so the window wall is a non starter too. Do your kua number to see if you are east or west and which is your best sleeping direction. It's all online.

Do you like it cozy modern ? Or just plain modern ?. The bedding looks great if your Into these colours I suggest trying to add more vibrant colors. Orange, gold, silver. You could try replacing the brown cabinet to a white table in the corner near your bed, add more metallic accessories and decor. I was thinking of putting some decor on top of your bed, how about this?. & if you wanted to make it more spacey I suggest putting a couple of mirrors. :) sorry for a lot of babbling though. xx

My first thought is that the bed looks a little close to the furniture across from the foot of it. I might try the bed on the window wall and instead of the piece on the wall that has the door, eliminate it and get two bedside table pieces with storage to accommodate whatever you were going to store in the piece across from the foot of the bed in your plan. I like beige and gray schemes in the bedroom too, and find some live green plants add a perfect spot of color, or perhaps a kind of acid green silk texture throw pillow. My suggestion is to browse Houzz photos and save the color schemes that you really love! Adding something sparkly will pep up a design that you think is too monochromatic as well - some silver or crystal bling? I added some bling-y chandeliers on either side of the bed in one of my bedrooms, which is fairly monochromatic in beige and gray tones. Some of the throw pillows also have a silvery touch in them.

I would paint your bed and ivory with a glaze over it ,then it would use texture and layer neutral sheets blankets and pillows since the room is so small ,hang curtains as high as you can and as far out from the window frame as you can to make the window look larger and taller. if you lighten up the bed with paint as suggested the room will look bigger as well ,then you can use side tables in mirror finish for some drama or round with a cloth top even ...with the room being small I would stay neutral and you bedside lamp shade needs to be at a hight that you can lay in bed and read under. The light.too small of a lamp will make them seem out of place ...try a textured soft larger neutral rug under your bed ,larger is better

If you intend staying here for a decade then you should make this house work for you and not the next people. I think that since you have already flagged extending in 10 years you should also future proof your plans now. If it were me I would have a bedroom where the current big bathroom is in order to give you the possibility of later extending over the ground floor extension. I would also want a super sized bathroom for my use - I have always believe the person paying the mortgage should have a better bathroom than people who visit three times a year. And I would take the view that when a loft bedroom is later added it won’t matter if one of the four bedrooms is compact. So I offer an alternative.

@Isla Cherry like this? i’ve managed to get rid of the foldable table and i’ve stuck the laundry basket behind the door. also added some floating shelves for decoration and a full length mirror. is the position of the bed ok? model is to scale

I think that works better but how does it feel to you? If you turned the wardrobe through 90deg and placed the back of it against the wall to the right where the clothing rail is it would give you more space. Do you use the vanity and stool often? If you do I thought the bed would be better moved further along the wall towards the door with the vanity in front of the window? Let me think about where to position your clothes rail now. Bed squashed against a wall is also bad FS. Very tricky isn't it? How high is your wardrobe and how much clothing do you have stored on the rail? Where are your shoes? You also don't want to struggle to reach what you need.:))

@Isla Cherry I’m not sure if this works. my main concern here is that i might not have enough space to open my wardrobe doors and the drawers and vanity are separated. i store my makeup in the drawers so its pretty essential to me to have them next to each other specially that I do use the vanity area quite often. My wardrobe is about 77 inches high. the rail holds my big/thick coats. my shoes are just stored under the rail and under the foldable table.

The previous version works better simply because 11 inches is not enough to walk around the bed but it would be lovely to have your vanity by the window.

Does the vanity stool not tuck under? My original thought was to place it in the window facing out with the stool tucked away to save space. At the moment the bed is too close to the wardrobe. Sorry I have only seen the radiator under the window now. I think as you have pared down completely you are going to have to either invest in bespoke storage or is there anywhere else that you could store your coats as the rail and the wardrobe are the main space hoggers!! Could you store some of your coats in vacuum bags somewhere else? Do you need access to all of them? Could they go in large flat baskets on top of the wardrobe? I'm just trying to give you options. How do you feel about the bed in this direction?

If you can open the wardrobe easily then this is the best option. The bed could also move a bit further to the right to give you more wardrobe access space. I think the vanity or the vanity set-up is taking up more room than necessary. I see what you mean about the rail preventing the chair sliding underneath but can't you turn the table through 90 so that the side without the rail is facing out? You should now be able to push the chair right up to the table. A shelf with a mirror would also work instead of a small table eating into the space. Do you need to sit down?

Your room has great potential! Here are some ideas to maximize space while keeping it cozy and feng shui-friendly:

-Reposition the Bed – Since feng shui discourages having your feet directly facing the door, consider shifting the bed to the left side of the room (where the wardrobe currently is). This also frees up wall space for your projector.

Full-Length Mirror Placement – A great spot could be on the wardrobe door or next to the vanity area. If you prefer a freestanding one, placing it near the laundry basket but angled away from the bed might work well.

Foldable Table Optimization – If you don’t use it often, mounting a wall desk that folds up could create more floor space when not in use.

Better Flow – Moving the wardrobe to the top-right corner (where the table is now) might help the room feel more open. This also creates a dedicated dressing area near the vanity.

Cozy Touches – Adding warm lighting, soft textiles, and maybe a rug can make the room feel inviting without being cluttered.

@Isla Cherry unfortunately i cannot turn the table 90 degrees as i have this mirror on top of it. perhaps i can tuck the chair in to the side when i’m not using it but i have to be facing the mirror and sitting down to do my makeup.

@CFS Interiors like this? idk the wardrobe seems to obstract the door opening. although I might still be able to get into the room if i enter sideways. yes i would prefer a free standing mirror rather than a mounted one.

Apologies, I see now that the shape of the table is oval and not round so that suggestion of mine regarding the vanity is not possible! I have done my make up standing up in a bedroom or a bathroom for more years than I can count. Feng Shui is more than just the bed position. The best position is feet not in line with the door but with a clear view of the door. There should also be space all around the bed to allow the chi to flow. Squashed up against a wall is not good feng shui. I would consider swapping that vanity for a wall mirror and a shelf or small narrow unit below and not have a chair. I prefer the bed in the private position that you had it, on the opposite side although it does not have a view of the door.

No, I don't think so. Mirrors should reflect good things as they double whatever they reflect so consider that. If you have to have the mirror facing the bed then just cover it at night with a scarf or something. Its so hard to practice feng shui when space is limited and you can't start from scratch. I struggle too :))
