Help with refreshing the front of my house

Hi all,
I'd like to make some subtle changes to the front of my house (photos attached) to refresh its look. Right now, it feels a bit plain. In the short term, I’m arranging a deep clean for the windows to help improve the appearance.
I’m planning to replace the uPVC door with a composite one (uPVC is 20 years old, and doesn't feel secure) and need help choosing a colour that complements the house. I’m considering light green, light grey, or pastel blue, but I’m unsure how they would work with the wooden panels on the pitched roof. That said, I’m not particularly attached to the wooden panels either, so I’d be open to painting them—perhaps white—to make the door the focal point.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated... Whether I can afford to be bold with an accent colour, or go safe and boring with a white or black.
In addition, are there any other budget-friendly improvements you’d recommend? Maybe some plants or other small touches?

Shash, I think I’d start by power washing the path and driveway, if you have one, then clean the windows and exterior. The green you given as a possible door colour goes very well with the brick. I think the wood above, and below, the window would look best painted white and I can see you have the same panels above other windows. Hallmark doors, for example, have an easy to website where you try out different door designs and colours against your own home by uploading a photo. Takes all the guesswork away. It looks like some brickwork and edging is missing so that needs attention and would you benefit from the addition of a proper doorstep? Once you’ve chosen your new door perhaps think about a square door number, maybe in slate, to fit between the window and door with a modern light above it, instead of your current security light. Would there be room for a single bay tree by the door? I don’t think I’d add pots as it may look a bit cluttered but I’d definitely find somewhere else to put your bin.

Hi Malley. Thank you for asking my advice! For what it's worth here goes; I agree with you that no extension of the front window is needed, the oak framed porch with A frame exposed, extending further out as per celery girls input with wisteria and box plants looks great. Regarding colour, I'm afraid I disagree about the brown windows, to me they scream 80's developer taste and are very dating and clash with the red. If you are going to go to the expense of replacing the windows to enlarge the apertures I would consider grey or grey/green grey/blue, these will all tone nicely with the red brick, white would be too harsh. Love the idea of the juliette window BTW. Do a search in Houzz for red bricks and grey windows, you will get a lot of images to think about. I'm not sure I agree that adding solar panels to the roof will be an improvement, yes they will break up those tiles, but they are not a thing of beauty are they, could they be on the rear instead? If budget did allow, after you have done your extension, windows etc I would look into the cost of replacing those roof tiles with slate as again I think they are dating, but agree with Daisy that it would probably be expensive and would not increase value on the house. Do you have updated pics with the new windows in? I think the windows alone will make a difference and then you can decide colour or whatever. Oh, and I dont think there is anything wrong with pebble dash! We have it all round our bungalow, we just had the back finished with sliding doors added and it was finished with pebble dash to match the existing - I know it sounds awful to some but it looks good. Also, I would avoid the grey. For me, internal walls are ok painted grey, walls easy enough to paint again when sick of the grey, but outside on your whole house is not an easy job to re-do in a couple years.

Consider any or all of the following: Getting the food pressure washed. Putting the front door on the front. Adding a pitched roof to the porch. Replacing the picket fence. Building a bin store in the front corner. Painting the side fence. Adding height to the front garden with an ornamental tree. I would personally only render the top part and paint it in something different to the window colour- my choice would be a strong grey with a brown quality. I would probably render the side wall (just on the low parts between the piers)

Thank you! Yes will start with power washing the drive and the windows - this month. With regards to the wood above - I'll paint it white. Do you think the wood finish will go with the other plastic trim? I'll go on a hunt for a door similar to the I posted in that colour. You can probably tell that the look overall currently looks dated, slightly shabby and unfinished. Would there be anything else you'd suggest that I could consider in the future? You can be as brutally honest as you'd like :) I could do with some inspiration and looking to formulate a long term strategy to do in phases.

Did a few mock ups. The website you suggested didn't seem to work, but that's fine. I think these mock ups gives me an idea ffof of what it might look like. My initial thoughts are that a lot of work would need to be done to give it an overall pleasing look.
