Bedroom empty space furniture help

Hi. I have empty space in my bedroom and trying to workout what furniture would go well here. Pictures attached in comments. For the alcove area, I am thinking either a dressing table, or a cupboard. I don't know what finishing whether oak or white. The existing cupboard will be removed. For the space between door and wardrobe, it's currently just used as a dumping ground for laundry. Any cleverer ways of utilising this space?
Also open to other ideas you may have. Plants? A colour ful chair near alcove area? Shelves or picture above headboard?
