Comments (8)Its funny but I am liking the darker shades more and more. Always used to go for pastels but my tastes are evolving! The matchcards in your earlier pic, on the table, seem to be much lighter than the later pic with the fabric, not sure why. The middle colour, Paradise Found, seems to match the flower in the fabric very well so it would work. But I must be honest I love the two greeny blues more. They are very similar to Inchyra Blue by F&B. Would you go all over? I think with white shutters and white woodwork it would look stunning. Here’s a pic of Inchyra Blue so you can see how similar it is, but a little darker?...See Morehelp me decide on our final kitchen design please!!!
Comments (12)By the way we also originally had all the seating in a line like that, but I realised that a) the seats all faced away from the view (our big sliders will be behind that side of the island), and b) everyone sitting in a row like that is not at all convivial. It just looks good in photos. So we've changed the island layout so that the seats are at one of the short ends and along some of the long side, so when people are sitting there, they are in an L shape which is much nicer for conversation. And we've put some cupboards under the rest of that side of the island which has added a bit more storage. It won't be as photogenic and I struggled to give up the original design because I loved the symmetry of it, but I am glad I was flexible on it in the end, as I think it will be nicer kitchen to spend time in IRL as opposed to looking good in a photo!...See MorePlease help me decide which tiles for bathroom
Comments (9)Minnie, This photo may be more accurate - I’ve propped them up as best I can on the bath (current bath to be replaced with claw-foot roll top). The shower tray will be white acrylic and there will be no tiles at wash-hand basin, just shower tiles and the herringbone floor tiles. Cle, thanks for your comment though I completely disagree with you - metro/subway tiles have been around since the last century and are classic - they just happen to currently be trendy! I do not slavishly follow trends but I live in an old cottage and the traditional style floor and subway tile suit the property perfectly. My bathroom is naturally dark, which I like, and want to work with hence the dark taupe herringbone floor tiles. There is really not a huge difference in the shades of white so I am probably over-analysing because I made a mistake choosing shower tiles before....See More- last monthlast modified: last month
