moving downstairs w.c
Hi all. After a bit of advice on the layout in regards to moving the downstairs loo. Do i move it into the end of the utility room off the kitchen or keep it where it is? For reference the office wall shown in the plans won’t be there leaving a more usable space. Thanks.

I think it might be best to take a bit off the lounge/snug to allow the utility space at the rear to feel more intentional and be more useful. Getting the WC closer to the centre of the house would be better, rather than guests having to go through full utility and office space. Also provides easy access to WC from garden through that door. And better for WC to be a bit more removed from kitchen.

Comments (50)Lol AMW. There's about 15cm from top of window to ceiling & the walls are cement blocks (so no recess space). The tiled 'secret' drawer compartment looks pretty cool though. I've got a cabinet being made in oak which will have to be sufficient for my daughter. The only thing I haven't decided on yet is the punter colour material to go with my java marble tile. Comments (4)You can locate it on the wall between the dining room and the current kitchen on the kitchen side. The new kitchen is pushed up and occupies all the space to the garden. Make the new toilet long and narrow so the access between the dining room and new kitchen is wide enough. Comments (6)I was thinking of 2 ideas for the position of your toilet... the green option is great as it’s out of the way, under the stairs but reduces the middle room and the toilet pipes are far... Or the blue option: reduces your kitchen, but great for the pipe just above. It depends on many things... Do you have children, in that case, they might need space to play/toys... Do you want 2 dinning areas? Ie: breakfast and middle room... I would personally change the window in the middle room, for a French door... and take the wall off as you mentioned. This would create a nice spacious dining room. I would use the breakfast room as a comfy snug to watch my garden grow while reading a book with a coffee!...See More- last month
