Hello Ilanarobinson514, I like the sound of some colour.. There are also some really fabulous wallpapers to consider... . Are there any specific features you have in the new place?... Will put a few images of things you might like to get the ideas going.... I love a four poster and have found one that's a nod to the oriental - it seems to be a theme and with the paper it works more than a sort of regency opulence which can be rather over the top.. The wallpaper is a dark charcoal and gold... so it would work really well on the headboard wall side of the bed... With a mirror on the wall behind if there is space in the centre of the bed frame. Or if you have a fireplace in the bedroom on the chimney breast... Team this with something like a lighter grey or charcoal and have a very chalky ceiling like Whitening by Little Greene...Colours for the other walls that would lift the paper are Scree, Portland Stone- I found a oriental looking wardrobe to continue the theme... but it can equally be plain and painted matt black (I have a french very plain one which is black and gr8! ..... The Elizabeth cabinet is something I really like that just has an element of the theatrical and because... She's rather a favourite of mine... (1) .... The velvet chair is also one of my favourites.... It's a beauty and could sit very nicely in a bedroom or a living room... gold cushion with origami pattern in silk.... For bed x 2 50x50, You may hate these and that's okay because I love them... but if you don't hate them....I have ideas about the bathroom..... : ))

Clara, There is lots to consider when decorating a room or deciding on colour. The number of windows is one of them but we would also take into account the light that comes into those rooms (is it northern light, south light, is it cold or warm), when do you use the room? what artificial light is there? what are your colour prefrences? what items are you placing in the room?.. the list goes on. By thinking about all of these elements individually, we can create a space that is right for you and use colours that work and are functional with the surroundings. For that reason I would always suggest seeking advise from a professional interior designer or colour consultant (we are available for a chat if you would like). If you choose to look at colours yourself, remember to paint your samples onto lining paper and tape to each of your walls, leaving on each wall for 24 to 48 hours, this will allow you to view it in all lights and at all times of the day. It is easy to say a colour looks great when you purchase it on a saturday morning but after painting you realise your only ever use the space in the evening light and it changes the look completely. Here are some pointers: STEP 1: Get Inspired! - Create your own ideabook: - On the Houzz search bar, lookup 'Bedroom' and 'Hotel Room' and filter by your preferred design style; contemporary perhaps? - Please visit our page and check out our ideabook titled 'Creative Headboards'. STEP 2: Select Your Color Scheme! - Base Colour: Most 5 Star Resorts stick to neutral/earth tone colours, choosing to add splashes of colour through use of accessories (bed cushions, artwork, bed throw etc). However, main furniture (bed, bedside tables, table lamps, wardrobes and so forth) remain neutral and either all the same colour or similar. Same applies to the walls; neutral/earth tones. - Accent Colour: As recommended above, have fun choosing a colour(s) that you've been inspired by for your bedroom accessories. This can also apply to your feature wall (where the bed headboard would go). STEP 3: Set You Budget! - Once you know how much you're willing to spend, only then can you make interior decoration decisions (type of headboard/extent of headboard, type of wardrobes, customised built-in-seating in the bay windows, curtains vs. blinds, carpet or wood flooring with rug(s) etc). STEP 4: Source Your FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Fittings) - Make a list of all the things you would need to purchase, prioritising the main pieces (bed, wardrobes etc) and, dependent on your budget, the stores you would need to visit. - Don't forget the bed linen; if you really want the contemporary 'hotel' look, stick to whites. @daisy England - thanks for your reply. yes correct doors are walnut and bed is oak...but bed is to go! I would prefer a material large feature headboard just not sure what colour to compliment?? orange is a good contrast colour, thankyou hadn't thought of that. @HU-290967725 - thanks for the images does help to get different ideas. I love gold with the navy but the sofa has silver studs on so I think it wouldn't link...do you think? glad of any other help. TQ
