Moving house and renovation ideas

We are in the process of moving into this house. The house itself needs full modernisation: new kitchen, flooring, windows ect.
Would you keep the current layout
Would you change it, how?
Pic 2 my idea... Blue- increase size of utility by knocking in to the the kitchen larder and hallway storage cupboard.
Yellow, create a new double door hallway storage cupboard and block up existing kitchen door.
Red, knock through the kitchen/dinning room wall.

I have added one idea for extending the kitchen/diner. The garden is north-facing so I want to bring in plenty of light. Your thoughts would be much appreciated as I am going around in circles and I want to make decisions and get contractors appointed in the Spring. Thank you!

@Jonathan I agree the house does have potential. The reason for bringing the porch or entrance forward is currently when you enter the house the stairs are very close and I just want that space and more of an open feeling. I would like the arch shape entrance in this picture rather than the style of porch that it is currently. I’m hoping this can work. @Emily unfortunately that can’t be bought forward as a lot of other work is going to be carried out extending at the back. That bathroom will be made into an en-suite as it’s tiny and that will link to master bedroom. I am really liking the stone colour around the windows and arch and I’m thinking of that as an option, just wondering how to achieve this.

Would you post an upstairs plan please. Also a pic of the front. The reason to consider the whole house is that if you consider all the options now you won’t do something now that might limit your options later.

I think your idea is great. A large hall cupboard is very sensible but it could be turned to make a boot room/ utility. A separate living room is always good so it doesn’t have to be heated in the week during the winterbut I would add French windows from the dining room and add some comfy seating

The snug will be a useful space- will probably end up being an office. Thank you for your suggestions.
