Hi Denise I have just ordered shutters for my house for all the front windows which is costing around £1000 and roughly 8 or 9 square metres I'd estimate. However this is for DIY install shutters from the California Shutter company who have been recommended by a friend who uses them regularly, they aren't arriving until first week of December so I can't vouch how easy they are to fit yet!. They're prices start at £125 sqm in the sale at the moment. http://www.californiashutters.co.uk/ Take a look at Nina Campbell's Pagoda Garden fabric it's similar to your original accent fabric in the photo, although I don't have a sample to hand just now. These are contract fabrics suitable for upholstery which I can supply. Also Osborne and Little's domestic fabric Brehon Linens in F6520-20 is really gorgeous with lots of blue tones in which I feel would complement your scheme. I would use what is now the bedroom, as a dining room next to the kitchen and then make what is now the lounge into a bed sitting room. Even better if you can sub divide it into two parts with a wall or part wall, but if not, how about a sofa bed or a daybed that transforms at night? Is this an apartment or a house? Having the dining area next to the kitchen makes so much more sense, as does having the bedroom next to the bathroom. There are some very creative arrangements for bed that hide by day nowadays, including fitting into cupboards etc - these look contemporary rather than the old fashioned bed sitting rooms and will make the space much more usable by day as well.

Depends what kind of wood you are having in the main room. If it's mid or dark colour and a little bit rustic then that works for a hall too, as long as you won't mind if the odd scratch appears over time. If you're having something very light or smooth in the kitchen I would be cautious of having that in a hall as dirt and marks will show much more. In that case I'd choose tile.

Generalisation now… 100% wool Tends to be used most with structured loops, sometimes referred to as "naturals". It's very rare you will find 100% wool used when making twist pile carpets. Example of a typical 100% wool loop - click here. 80/20 (80% wool; 20% a.n. other) This blend tends to be most common in the functional twist carpet. One thing to consider is what is the 20%? To keep the price down, manufacturers will use polypropylene which we explained about the pros and cons of polypropylene in our previous comments. If you can afford it, we would recommend looking for either 20% polyamide (aka nylon), 20% polyester or a mix of polyamide and polyester to go with the 80% wool… you dig? We'll get on to clarifying another reason for this price difference in a minute. 50% wool, 50% a.n. other This blend is all about making wool more affordable. Very rarely used in twist pile carpet these days, so it's more likely you will find this blend of mix in the structured wool loop market. It's not really about what's the best wool blend, it's more about the look you most prefer as this dictates the wool blend in the carpet. Most important, actually, is the quality of the yarn used. New Zealand is recognised as the best. Wears incredibly well and allows strikingly clean colours eliminating berber (flecky) hues. New Zealand wool is the most expensive of wool yarns for these reasons. Difficult to show you over the internet but if you were to see these side by side against comparable products NOT using New Zealand wool you would be able to see how much "crisper" the colours are in the products that use New Zealand. As for the moths' munching habits, it's likely they will prefer a higher wool content product but it has been known for the blighters to munch through 50% blends too. If you are in a region where moths are reported to eating wool then avoid any doubt and opt for a carpet that carries a manufacturers moth proof warranty. There are many about.
