Hello, living room help is sought.
Comments (27)I really love your room - exciting shapes. You only need one thing to kick-start your imagination. Lose the animal skin and choose one large beautiful multi coloured rug (could be very modern, ethnic, or even antique) to reflect the sofa colours and add cushions to echo the rug colours. This will bring the sofas together and unify the lost space between them. Then the rest will follow naturally; e,g, art, ornaments coffee tables lamps etc;. You might like to think about a radiator cover that stretched across the whole of that wall with a shelf on top and VERY large flat louvres across the entire width. This will make that wall appear to be wider and the full width louvres will accentuate that feel. Above, on the shelf sit lovely modern vases, glass ornaments etc; above that a large stunning piece of art. Good luck - you are lucky to have such an interesting starting point....See MoreLiving room help
Comments (9)I think a white wall with the brown walls will look a little odd. Just that “feature walls” are usually the bolder option not the other way round. If you have the inclination, how about painting all the walls in the same colour? That way you can choose a colour you like and you don’t have to match it with other wall colours. Colours could be anything you like that goes with your furniture. Love Minnie’s green. A colour I recently used is Dulux Goose Down, a lovely bright grey, and it’s neutral enough to go with most furniture. You could get a tv unit and place it under the tv but keep the tv on the wall. It will give you extra storage which is always welcome....See Moreliving room help
Comments (22)All the rugs are a little too small. All rugs look so much better and so much cosier if some of the furniture partly sits on it. Otherwise the rug looks lost at sea, floating across the floor. I actually like your second option, the Persian rug style one, but would add a hint of other colour in it such as yellow or pink. I also like the dark grey rug you were gifted but it is too small. You could add a bit of colour with coloured or patterned cushions to steer away from too much grey. I will have a look at some photos which show placing and colours of different rugs that may go. Off for a virtual shop!...See Moreliving room help again!
Comments (4)Kayleigh, I looked back at your first post and photos and the addition of your fireplace has made a big difference. I see your inspirational pics are of a dark fireplace wall and I like how you’ve now created that. Are you happy with the colour? I know you’ve tried various furniture layouts and it’s a tricky one but I think the cream sofa in the bay looks too squished in. Have you tried putting the smaller grey one in there so the sofas are opposite each other? I would have a large artwork you love instead of a mirror or the clock. For me there are too many photo frames and ornaments covering all the surfaces but it’s your home. As you say you need to be relaxed and feeling comfortable with the layout and wall colours before you can consider accessories but I’ve always thought a large round rug would look good....See More- last month
