So I’m a bit confused, you say you’re planning to put the tv in the space but the tv is already there - is this not a photo of your living room?
So do you keep the coats and shoes in the porch or in the cupboard?

Hi Betty. That's the picture from the estate agent's site - I haven't moved in yet. Basically, I'm going to put my TV where the current one is. The porch door is the one by the TV (on the side of the windows) and opens into the room; obscuring the TV. Coats and shoes will be in the porch.

The previous owners TV looks quite large, if your TV is smaller would it not fit exactly between the porch door and cupboard door and not prevent any doors from opening? I agree with you in that keeping the porch door is best as you wouldn’t want to just walk in from the street and it also works the keep your room warmer. Take the door off by all means and see what you think after living with it for a while. And be aware if you did want to remove the porch completely, you may have ceiling and flooring issues to deal with.

I thought about that layout too Sarah L but didn’t think the room was wide enough?

Thansk ladies. I’m not too keen on the back of the sofa facing the entrance as i feel it’ll also make the room feel smaller… and you’re right Betty Boo, the room is quite narrow. If it had high ceilings, i may have been more open to the idea. How about if the sectional is flipped the other way i.e back to the othe wall and towards the other door? A floating sofa, i feel would make the toom look smaller and i want it to have a bigger feel (if that makes sense)

my initial thoughts were to keep the TV where it is…getting a right chaise sofa, then a love seat (or similar) backing the window and a sideboard on the wall facing the window.

Hmm definitely prefer sarah last layout suggestion but without sideboard and cupboard, but with swivel tv mount, L shaped sofa so you can have small dining table

Like the other contributors I would keep the door. You might consider moving the porch door hinges to the right so that the door opens towards the current sofa position and doesn't risk banging into the tv.

You might consider moving the door to the cupboard to the wall facing into the room perhaps with two cupboard doors. Then a small sofa/loveseat should fit and another sofa under the window tv in corner on WC wall? Hinge porch door the other side

I would put in a straight wall (blue line) and remove the door. That way you have a protected entrance, space to hang coats etc and yhe room will be more balanced.
You can then still hang TV on wall next to entrance
