Comments (8)If you want your garden to be dominated by the new cabin then go for pale colours which will stand out. I would want it to look further away and would stain it black (or very dark grey) with grey deck around it which sets off the numerous greens in the garden really well. I would also Put a layer of planting in front of it so it creates a secondary area of garden. A simple block of tall grasses planted en masse for example. Comments (3)If the drainage is really bad and it sounds like it may be if you are getting pools of water on the surface, the best thing to do will be to get a drainage expert in. As Sven said a system of simple french drains may be a good solution. But you may also need to excavate a soak away for the water to flow into. Generally french drains are laid in a herring bone pattern to drain, with the main drain leading to a soak away.
