Hallway doors final finish

We have renovated our house and need help with interior finish of the hallway.

We have build under-stairs doors with a textured finish (supplied as black MDF - see photo of texture) and need advice on final colour - black vs white (see AI images attached). the curved wall has similar texture and has been painted in a terracotta colour.

The carpets are perhaps not what what we had in mind (see photo) but now with a dilemma of keeping the doors black to break the carpet vs white to make the hallway more uniform and look less ”busy”.

Note: there will eventually be another single door on the left down the passage to the airing cupboard.

Would be grateful for your thoughts!

I prefer your doors in white, they look seamless and streamlined. Black makes them stand out. I don’t think the terracotta goes with the carpet - is there a reason you’ve painted it that colour?

I agree with Betty the terracotta too bright and too contrast for the current grey carpet unless you go for 80s midcentury interior style

If you like warm colour wall for contemporer or modern interior that can harmonize with grey carpet I would suggest using terracota clay paint color by behr Marque

I advise to keep both the hallway wall as the same color but if you want the curved wall as accent wall better use vertical tiles in muted terra cotta or grey color (you can search tile curved wall for reference) Its not shiny tile as the bathroom but more natural stone tile that could make the hallway feels more high end and if you can combine them with LED indirect lights on the ceiling plus add tall vase or learn tall plant on the curved wall space add it with small spotlight it Will enhance the space evenmore

For the build in cupboard I advise to make the door the same color as the wall to make it less cramped

Access door that leads to livingroom, kitchen, etc Will be painted in different color than the wall (white/grey/wood,etc)

If you want to paint the hallway with other color than white I would suggest using limewash texture

I would also go with eggshell. Gloss will be the most durable but is a fairly dated look (although due to the fact that most of us have houses with glossed woodwork we will see it around for quite some time yet.) Eggshell is far more in trend for the woodwork.

I would add colour, perhaps change the floor depending on budget and add some nice storage where you hang your clothes rather than leave it open. You can have some kind of console under the stairs with lighting and a round mirror to make the place look spacious and perhaps small pendants , 3 or so, along the corridor. Definitely looks like it needs brightening up and lighting is key. However of course it depends on what you doing with the rest of the house, for example you could even change the stairs and have a nice runner . It is not just the hallway, but the entrance to your house and it all has to flow!

I agree with the radiator cover idea and I would put a large, very wide, rectangular mirror above it instead of the photographs. I think this would do a much better job of expanding space and creating light than the mirror at the end of the hall (although there's no reason you can't have both). Depending on how it looks with the large mirror I might also remove the thing hanging to the left of the door. In the space in the second photograph I would either remove that photograph in between the door and cabinet on the left or I'd have it in a white frame if you'd really like something there. In the third photograph I like the idea of a collage of frames leading up the stairs, but I find these frames a bit too chunky and rustic looking in that space. I think some white-framed or black-framed photographs would look better like in the above post. There the frames are simple but the photographs themselves inject colour which is carefully chosen and the end result is crisp and fresh and looks fabulous. At the top of the stairs I think one large rectangular print would look better than the two smaller ones.

actually the handrail should stay as is,just a spindles and balusters should be painted in white. the doors should be changed. that's a next step.
