I personally think not everything needs to be symmetrical, and am always mindful of this when designing. It looks as though the hob is slightly off to one side, you could put a large statement light centred over the 'dining' end to zone this space. With it being set slightly away from the kitchen, something with some fabric or texture would really soften the space.

No problem, if you do that just don't forget to allow for some task lighting above the hob, maybe a small downlight over the hob

I think the kitchen design should be tweaked. Consider moving the ovens near the hob for both easy of use and safety.

Since the island is not symmetrical because the seating is to one side, consider moving the hob in line with the two tall cabinets behind the island (which is where I think you should have your ovens). This will look logical and makes your food prep space bigger.

The room looks large enough for a better island, consider if you can go deeper for better seating space at the end. Consider going longer to fully use the space at the stool end.

And since you asked about light I think you need task lighting over the hob. A long linear pendant works with this style of kitchen. Alternatively choose glass light shades and lie them up in uneven numbers. The number depends on size of pendant but you need a minimum of three and five looks great.

I would also consider adding a pendant light or a group of them over the bar end of the island and some spotlight or directional downlights over the hob/prep area.

I feel adding plants wont really soften the look of this kitchen; you've got a lot of black cabinets in there. Changing the colour of the cabinets to something lighter might help, or adding a wood finish to the wall cabinets and/or the island.
