We have been trying to sell our house for a couple of years, and the main issue seems to be the garden, so we want to make some small changes to hopefully make it more attractive.
Main points:
- Lack of sun: north facing, no sunlight during winter, back 50% does get sun in the summer months. The evening sun is under the shelter.
- Overshadowed by trees: the large tree at the back is in the neighbours garden (they're not willing to part with it) - but it drops a lot of sap and bits.
- Small budget: we're hoping to do something low cost, big impact to give a canvas for the next owners to work with
Plus points:
- it is very private - not overlooked at all as the houses behind have very long gardens
- secure - safe for kids/pets
We've wondered about building a raised bed along the length of the back fence, and incorporating a bench seat in it? And maybe some nice lighting?
Attached is layout and photos of current garden. Be glad of any ideas!
