I think you're rather stuck on where to put a fridge freezer now the kitchen is done because it would need to go on the end of the run because of the height. I guess you could put it in the dining area along with a couple of larder units to make it one long continuous run if you're opting for a smaller table although I do like how it currently is. Regarding corners I would always plan a 900 L shaped base in each corner because you can then open each door offering you full and easy access to the whole area. Much cheaper than installing chromeworks in a cupboard for a decent brand.

Man about the House - you're correct, bigger freezer will mean I'll end up buying more food that I don't need and then freezing it and I'll never see it again! I've always had a very small fridge freezer and I think that is the reason why we hardly waste any food as we only buy what we can fit in the fridge. The final size of the room including 3m rear extension will be 7.5m long 5m wide but the kitchen part will only go up to 4m max in length ( if I go for L shape with island ) Emily - yes planning on having a modern kitchen Jonathon - my husband likes the look of them but not bothered about filtered water/ ice dispenser. I find them very narrow inside. I do like the french door style ones but again they are bulky too and very expensive!

I guess both fridges you are talking about are double door, and wider than regular fridges? I'm bit confused with some comments.... And difference is that french has freezer box on bottom+ 2 upper doors, while american has freezer in one side? Is that correct? If thats the case, and you already consider space and budget (french are more expensive), my recommendation is: If you are more used to use frozen food: go for american style, the frozen food is better organized than in french one. If you use more fresh food: french style, the fresh food has better organization and space I personally prefer...... French Style!.. because is wider space for fresh food to be stored (imagine a family size tray/cake) , I feel less food goes to waste, and i don't mind frozen food to be a bit stacked But again, it depends on what you are used to. We had an integrated one like you describe in previous house - SubZero - it was great! But now we have a full larder fridge and honestly I don't miss the wide fridge. I probably miss the freezer drawers more, but they didn't actually hold that much - not compared to a full larder freezer anyway. The best thing was probably never having to bend down to access fridge drawers as the fridge was all at the top - but you could have two integrated fridge-freezers side by side to get that functionality - a friend has that and although you have to know which fridge something is in, it works well for them - and they have both opening in the middle so it looks like it'll be a double-wide unit but it's actually two 600mm units side by side.
