Comments (4)Ohh ick! My bathroom in the French countryside looked like this when I first moved in (the Swiss taste must have travelled across the border...) Those tile tattoos are worth a punt to cover up the weird ones. notonthehighstreet.com has a big range and they say they are bathroom tested. While you wait to rip it out, I would just paint the ceilings, walls and cabinetry a combo of white and cream (a tone that matches all those tiles). The blue floor tiles might then ping and look pretty good. Lush towels and a good shower curtain (you can get two layered ones that are nice waffleweave on the outside) will help a lot. And you could take the doors off the tall cabinets either side of the sink and have folded towels, attractive decorative bits, and baskets to store the more practical stuff you need in a bathroom. As for those saloon doors....actually, the more I look at them, the funnier they are and I would keep them for a while just for a laugh. I hope they have a good authentic squeak to them :)...See MoreNew bathroom
Comments (11)I am a tiler and I used all kind of tiles and mosaics. Best advice ,as your corner shower will be around 800/800mm ,get porcelain tiles . In London,European Heritage sells porcelain with carrara marble print (white and greish veins gloss shiny finish or other color options) at 795/795mm. That would mean about 3 tiles per wall. around 240 the whole set of tiles with only 2 horizontal grout lines. For best results, use Mapei grout(you can find it even at B&Q nowdays. Add black matt finish taps and mixers and you have a relaxing colour mix....See MoreNeed bathroom inspirations for compact bathroom
Comments (10)Hi. I'm a bit confused, have you bought the vanity and are looking to paint it? Is the rest of the bathroom fitted as you could add brass or copper taps for instance with a matching mirror? Accessories will also warm it. I like a little wooden stool in a bathroom which you can add accessories to i.e. A candle, natural sponge, flannel etc which has some texture. A plant on the window sill if you have one and then nice accessories for the sink and either some coloured towels or I like hammam ones. I've found a couple of pics but they may not post as houzz has issues :( These are using deep rich colours which may bring the cabinet towards you a little. A darker top for the vanity would also work...See MoreRose gold, Black and blue in bathroom?
