If you don't have 2nd floor use skylight but if you have use LED indirect light hidden under upper cabinetry,

use light blue or green splashback or paint the kitchen cabinet

Wood pattern/texture on the cabinet also help make it warmer

We do have some led strips we were thinking of putting in the wooden shelves within the cabinets. The surface of the cabinets would make it hard to paint I'd imagine, although to be fair we don't mind them.

It's actually the paint colours / style / zoning we were looking to change? Not sure what wall/s to paint as it's open plan?

What about a sort of muddy mushroomy plum? You could try Farrow and Ball skimming stone in the hall. I’d probably paint the side door in the kitchen the same as as the walls

i’m not very good at colour anyway but your units look lilac, blue or ”white” depending on the light plus the tones in the floor vary hugely! I might also change the yellow wall

Thanks Minnie. We have a bathroom in Egyptian cotton which is very similar to F & B Skimming Stone. The photos I put up are from the duller part of the day, usually it's quite bright, the cabinets are a pale matt grey colour. We quite like the yellow and pale grey in the conservatory area, so we'd ideally want something that looked ok with that in the background.

I used Dulux Tranquil Dawn here. I think it compliments the yellow wall well and works with the grey cabinets.

Thanks Sarah, definitely goes with the yellow. Thinking of something a bit darker too maybe another colour or 2 to zone the different areas and maybe tie in the hall.
