The only other thing I would say is don’t totally rule out the corner cabinet idea if you can afford the type of internal pull and slide fittings that allow you to easily access everything inside. I seem to remember that they were ridiculously expensive but I could be wrong. Only you know much you need to store and how much space you’ve got in your kitchen.

Remove the bay if it is only on this floor to replace it with doors. It will be much cheaper than curved doors but you could always get quotes for both and see what you find. I would steal some of the space from the kitchen and the under the stairs cupboard to fit a downstairs loo, it is invaluable in a busy house particularly when you have been out in the garden! As the kitchen is on that side there should be relatively easy access to the drains.

Colourwisedesign: yes, you are not the first to think that I don't need the second kitchen door! The second door is where my tesco delivery would arrive, instead of the front door! This second door would serve as the family "going out of the house" door, so that the front door could be kept tidy. The door out to the utility would be the main door into the garden, and to put the washing out. I know it sounds crazy, but it is a big house surrounded by a drive on the left, and garden on the right. This is how it it now, with no access either side of the house. This is how this side would be with a door. It is a long way round without a side door here.
