Ok it seems I got cut off due to the smiley face I put! Grr.. Basically what I was saying is that we were thinking about farmhouse/cottage style table (small but extending), but I'm worried that it may be too much.. Also we rushed and bought retro industrial type of lampshades (same for both areas), and also our floor isn't wood colour, but it's white/grey kind of washed wood, so I'm afraid the whole look wouldn't look so good with the white floor! What do I do?? Also my hubby didn't like it as much as I did...and I was so hopeful that we finally got a perfect middle.. Anyway, if I swap something for something maybe that would help..? All I want is a nice and cosy, elegant and sophisticated but also comfy and relaxing home..what a headache :) But thank you so so much for every single idea, this really helps to think!!! It looks like a wonderful space. It's hard to know how to lay it out without knowing how the rooms will be used. Do you have a big family? Do you have a table in the kitchen- will the dining room be used daily or just on occasions? Do you need space for tv watching, reading, kids toys, studying, practising a musical instrument....?! If you think through the different ways you will be using the space and how that may change over time, you will be better equipped to come up with a plan. If lots of people will be using the space for lots of different purposes, I would be inclined to divide it with double doors. The doors can be closed when necessary for reasons of noise or privacy.

Hey looks like a lovely room. I would opt for a L shaped sofa so it frames the fireplace area and identifies that as the cosy living room space and still allows easy access to a dining table by window. Your built in bench is a good idea to make most of the space, could have 2 either side so means beach can be tucked under table when not in use. Get a beautiful oversized ottoman for costing up by fire and a small side table rather than coffee table to maximise the space and maintain the luxury feel. Hope you have fun with your plans!
