Spotlight positions for bedroom

last month

Hi everyone,

I'd really appreciate some advice from anyone with experience in lighting design or bedroom renovations.

We're renovating our bedroom and I'm trying to finalise the positions of four dimmable LED downlights before the electrician starts.

We're also having a strip light installed in the top of our headboard to wash/shine up the wall.

I've attached a floorplan showing the room layout and my proposed spotlight locations. Ceiling height is 2300mm. Wardrobe with sliding doors takes up the full wall and is floor to ceiling.

My main concerns are:

- I don't want the light to shine brightly in our eyes when we're lying in bed

- l'd like the room to be well lit when we're doing tasking in there e.g. putting clothes away, cleaning etc. we'd have the lights on brightest setting for this

- I'd like the lighting to feel balanced within the room.

- are the lights too close to the fitted wardrobe? without being too close to the bed?

If this were your room, would you keep these positions as they are, or would you move any of the fittings?

Any advice or examples from your own projects would be very welcome.

Thank you!
