tile help for new downstairs toilet

Please help! I have been totally overwhelmed with the tiniest room in the house!
We are going to have a Matt handless sink and toilet unit that will be wall to wall (in the current position as per the before photos).
I was hoping to have a light herringbone floor (as it will continue through via the adjoining hall).
I love brushed gold fittings so I was hoping to go with those. We were planning on having a sink bowl on the top of the unit, with a tap coming from work surface (this would be to the side due to room).
I cannot find a suitable tile. I really struggle to visualise what a tile will look like on the whole area. As it’s a small room I was going to do a half tile.
Open to the idea of the flooring changing, and can change from brushed gold fittings if needed.
I did an AI pic, and think it looks nice. But I’ve been talking myself out of it. Wondering if it’s too pink / girly.

I absolutely love the AI pic; it's not too pink/girly. The white, gold and wood anchors it nicely. It will work well for your room and be wow for such a small space.

I think I’m worried about getting the colouring right on the pink tiles. It could easily become too much. As is no ai pic it’s not an exact tile I can copy. It did generate the pic based on a photo I uploaded. I’ve got a sample coming in the post but no idea if the tones will be right. I’ll upload the pic I gave it, and a new one it’s done, where the tones of pink are way off.

No worries ! Was fun to look how to improve it ! Also a good example of the difference a concept planner can make to a whole project, rather than just a kitchen and bathroom supplier ideas for one space. Limestone is perfect in a bathroom/wetroom environment. If you seal it - even better. As it is a natural stone, too much water/soaps/shampoos won't affect it (even if it wasn't sealed), unlike a ceramic or porcelain which would need a little more maintenance. Limestone's natural colours and variants in patterns & shades also disguise any marks which is perfect in that situation! Here's a wetroom we did last year for some clients, which is completely floor to ceiling in Travertine (a form of limestone) They love it as it is so easy to keep clean. Hi Billybob, I would turn the stairs into the living room and then move the living room door to the front and use the remaining hallway space as the wc. However if you have the budget for it, in a small house as this it would be better to have the ground floor open plan. I would get rid of the chimney(?) in the middle of the house, remove the two internal walls and use the back as a kitchen area with island, the middle as the more formal dining area and the front as the lounge. I would use a sliding door instead of swinging one for the living room. I would remove most of the back wall and install bi folds to create even more indoor/outdoor living space.

I drew it from the dimensions on your plan so if they are correct, then this is roughly to scale, so it should work. In saying that, I definitely recommend investing a bit of money getting someone to draw it all to scale before you start work so that you know exactly what is going where (this is something I do but it depends where you are based!). Costing depends totally on how easy it is to remove those walls which will need a structural engineer to have a look at. In terms of where you have moved things to, the kitchen hasn't moved far and the soil stack is nearby, so you shouldn't have to move services too far, which keeps the cost down as much as possible. Edited to add - I drew it from the 3.48m dimension and assumed all other rooms were scaled corrected from that. So my drawing depends on the original plan being to scale, not just your measurements! Edited again - your pan seems reasonably to scale so I think my drawing should be a pretty good indication, though not exact.

The ai pic of the white tile got me thinking I should go for that, but again I feel I could easily get the tones wrong which will change the whole look. Really want to get this boxed off. I’ve been putting it off so long. Really struggling though to make a decision 🥲

You need to get samples and see the colours in your space. And order plenty of samples so you can compare them. And you need sample of the flooring too obviously as it's got to work with that too, but if it's a natural wood colour then anything should work with it really.

Yes the flooring would be natural wood colouring. We have a local supplier who offers a massive range on the flooring colours. I have. Ordered a lot of samples, mainly in pink. They are yet to arrive. The more I look at the pink the more I question if I’m making a big mistake. I do like the ai picture, but wondering how close I could get it that, instead of looking harsh or tacky. I’m open to suggestions on any tile scheme and colour. I am totally lost with it all to be honest.

That shade of pink works however I’d add darker tones for the art and vase or maybe a pendant light. Maybe a woven basket for loo rolls and a linen hand towel for texture.

You could also consider tiling the boxing in for the waste pipe

Sage green tiles would work well with the oak and brass tones.
