We have put an offer on a bungalow with an old loft conversion. There’s stairs up with lead to a small square with a door either side leading to 2 bedrooms .
This makes it a 4 bedroom house , as it’s only the two of us and the dog we only need 2-3 bedrooms really , a spare and a hobby or dressing room . I was wondering if it’s possible to change loft into a larger 1 bedroom . Added bonus would be a small en-suite but not sure the shape of the room would accommodate it . I should have taken more photos but basically the stairs go up in a straight line leavening only a small space at the top with the door each side leading to each of the bedrooms . The party wall with the semi next door is directly in front . There is about a 3-4 foot space on the other side of the stairs opposite the firewall which has been boxed in to make cupboards for each of the rooms . The dormer windows are at each side . The pics will explain better than I describe .
Anyway would it be possible to make this one room , maybe put a small shower and loo at the back part of the stairs or around that area , as the bathroom is directly below and plumbing wouldn’t be too difficult as that’s where the outside wall is . Any ideas on this , just wondering if we would have the spare cash left over to do it when we move in or even if it’s worth doing . Also very basic ballpark cost, we live on the south coast
