I have praline maple cupboards & the countertop is quartz saffron and a wood floor white birch with a natural finish. What color should I paint the walls??? feeleysa

Some suggestions would be Valspar Logan Square AR1019, Fisherman's Wharf AR1125 or Cork Top AR621 to play off the colors in the counter.

I just wanted to share my experience because I am on a non existent budget too. I saw a picture of a bench I loved, contacted the carpenter, and he has just made me a birch ply kitchen for a total of 1600 euros, including fitting. (600 labour, 400 fitting, 600 for materials). He has kept his price low for me because he likes the project. I am guaranteed to use him now to build wardrobes, boxes, and shelving solutions as and when I have budget. Sometimes talking to individuals who work for themselves/do it on the side can result in very cost-effective solutions! I am paying 300 euros for brushed stainless steel countertops, and got a belfast sink for 100 euro including the mixer tap. Will send u a pic when it's done but my almost dream kitchen has been possible for like 2000 euros (£1800?) I wouldn't shy away from painting the units yourself as there are many tutorials online to show you how, but it is labour-intensive and eggshell paint on cabinets = drips!! You could always just get white or raw cabinets for now, and paint later when you have some cash? Make sure you use quality brushes if you go this route. Nothing more annoying than little hairs sticking in your lovely paint :-/

We're with Valduff. Shades of purple and plum can really add depth to a chic scheme like yours. Particularly with your gorgeous counter top. Grey is also a good call, as it will coordinate with your kitchen units but allow room to add coloured accessories. It can depend on the light quality in your room- we always recommend grabbing some tester opts in a range of shades. Paint your walls or A4 sheets, and see what the colours look like as the light changes throughout the day.

Thank you all for your comments. I've attached a couple of photos from OnePlan's design which was done a few months ago. Since then we've decided to place the ovens in the middle section of the full height cabinets and change the finish to oak. Also changed to oak is the appliance cupboard (the sliding doors which have also now changed to pocket doors). There's also a small study leading off the kitchen which will be IKEA oak furniture with a plain, pale green carpet (recycled from our dining room). We have been very pleased with the Amtico flooring in our current kitchen and will go for Amtico or Karndean in the new kitchen. We like the warmth underfoot and it has always been easy to clean and is dog-friendly. Ease of maintenance is essential as we're both retired. But I'm not keen on fake wood in a room with so much real wood so it'll probably be a stone effect. We'd like a glass splashback (again colour to be decided). A mid-tone granite worktop might be ok but I had fallen in love with Ivory White from Ivett & Reed whereas my partner loves a very dark black textured granite. The colour of the other units will be rather dependent on our floor/worktop choice I'd imagine. But not bright white. I'd quite like a fresh, lively look to the kitchen/breakfast. The remainder of the house is mainly F&B golds/stone colours which tie in with the brass door furniture in those rooms. But the kitchen and utility is staying with chrome fittings. We have a separate dining room which needs new curtains and carpets too which I'd like to be more sophisticated as it has dark Victorian-style furniture. Thanks for the tip about yellowing of oak. I'll check with the kitchen installers.
