Too high or just right?

Would like opinions on whether this picture is too high? I nearly killed myself getting it in place, but looking for feedback. I may be replacing the couch in a few months along with the art. . .

Sorry to say this but I feel part of living in a city is being aware and respectful of neighbours. Good on you for at least consulting them first. We are currently going though a very stressful similar situation but our neighbours are building. They did not give us the courtesy of even telling us and are selling one of the duplexes they are building, which happens to be the biggest and most imposing one & on our side. It is totally taking away our privacy, looking into our kitchen & living area and whole backyard. Plus the only outdoor eating area is only 1mtre from our deck off our kitchen. It is horrible, stressful and we feel we will be forced to sell our lovely home we have been in for 20 years. My advice is move - buy a house which suits your needs as your neighbour will hate you forever and object to everything they can. Not sure where you live but in Australia you have to get an architect/drafts person to draw up overshadowing plans. Please be nice to them, it is stressful and could cause them to become very ill.

Hello, Personally I wouldn't paint them in the same colour as I would find the result too boring. Sort Our Stuff gave you a good tip: you could mix the colour a bit and perhaps change the shades so the walls would differ a bit from each other. The grey sofa will go with the wall colour, I would suggest you add some neutrals as well or maybe white. Grey sofa with grey wall would be no to me. I would try to make everything more diverse, add more colours so my eyes wouldn't get tired of the overall view as there would be more to interact with. For feature wall go for the one with the TV. Feature wall with a sofa would look odd.

I agree with The Snug Ltd - Not only do T.V's above a fireplace ruin the focal point of the fireplace for me, it's just too hot. I found this interesting article which when read through explains why:- Digital Trends . I'm sure that the room can't be so small that it won't fit a small t.v on a little cabinet at the right height. We have one in our snug which rarely gets turned on, except for when the grandchildren come round. We watch TV in the lounge where it sits adjacent to the much larger fireplace. We did buy a larger T.V at one point, but took it back and changed it for a smaller one as it just dominated the room, and detracted from the Fireplace!

If it is an extra tall wc for people with mobility problems then you can’t make it shorter and you are just going to have to rip it out and do it again. If it is a wall hung wc and there is a frame that is already boxed in you can’t adjust the frame without taking the front off the boxing. However you might be able to source a different pan with different dimensions. Speak to your supplier who can look for an alternative pan with fixing bolts in the same place. It is possible that the alternative will only be subtly different so you might still have to take the boxing out and adjust the frame. The frame should have been set at the right height before boxing it in- if you have a specialist installer and they have got it wrong then they have made a rookie mistake that they should put right.
