I'm lost! Please help with my kitchen.
Comments (544)Hello Amanda, : )) Do you mean in the kitchen? Yes a nice idea. I like flat plate too, but really plain. Well the best way to describe how I feel about certain alterations is to tell you about someone I knew who "did up" her flat to such a degree that she literally took away all that was characterful about it.. Sometimes it's best to leave things as their patina develops over time and results in something quite special. Restoration is one thing but you can also restore the life out of something and thus diminish in certain contexts the value- and so it's good to know when to stop.. So yes, I'm firmly in the camp suggesting leave them, but of course it's entirely your choice. : ))...See MorePlease help me ,i am lost,Need help with my living room
Comments (9)I agree with Red80 re furniture layout. There are lots of good things in this room, I just personally find the cushions and blinds clash with the chandelier and wallpaper. I would swap the 2 geometric cushions for softer patterns in lighter grey/white/duck egg. I'd get something with different textures as the cushions fabrics look the same atm? Add accessories to your coffee table, maybe just a pile of books, a vase of flowers, and an "ornament" in wood/ceramic/pewter etc again for texture. When budget allows swap the blinds for Roman blinds. Try blinds 2 go or Tuiss which is their sister company if you're in the UK. I can't remember the exact price but I got pure silk Roman blinds for 2 really large windows for c£450 which sounds a bargain to me although not yet up:) I agree the mirror is a little high. If you can, without leaving a hole on show in the wallpaper, I'd lower it as long as it doesn't reflect the tv! I'm not sure the pics to the left of the window work as they're obscured by the curtains. Perhaps also a taller vase/pot in the blue for the tv cabinet to detract from the tv a little more? Alternatively you could change the wallpaper and the mirror to give the room a contemporary rather than classical feel...See MoreHelp me furnish my open plan living/dining room
Comments (4)Thanks so much for your comment. This is my only living space, so looking to have a dining table, sofa, coffee table, chair etc. In the picture where you can see my kitchen - to the right, I have three windows, and behind me is just a bare wall with a radiator. I will send more pictures. Thanks again :)...See MorePlease help me. I'm so torn. Split 90sqm flat into two or not?
Comments (9)Hi Dalida, Congratulations on having this interesting apartment and for your project idea! I think that regardless of what you choose in the end, you’ll have a beautiful space. I completely understand what you mean regarding the second access point. It can become a problem with the neighbours but also, it wouldn’t be as lovely to come “home” via that route, amongst the smell coming from the bins (if I understood correctly). From what I see from your plans, you could still very well divide the two if you wanted to. You can keep the main access for both flats, but that would mean having a smaller flat/studio. However, I noticed that in the first two rooms next to the main entrance (which I assume would be a studio/flat in itself) that you have a high interior height (3.56m). There is more than enough space to develop the space vertically if you wanted to. You could divide the space into 2 and have the bedroom upstairs. I think you already have something similar in one of your plans. This could work wonderfully as you could still have 2 separated flats and the hallway could act as access for both spaces (no need to access via the bins route). One thing that might be worth thinking about, if you do opt to divide the space, is to move the bathroom position so that you can connect it with the new bathroom in the smaller flat(have them on both sides of the wall that will be dividing the 2 flats). It’s always easy (if possible), to have all pipes towards on main water point. It reduces the length that pipes need to "travel" to reach the bathroom, hence saving some money. Plus, your plumber might be happier having everything close to each other, easier to work with. To be honest, I don't know where your current main water point is in the space, maybe it's not possible. But worth a thought. Hope this helps! Best of luck!...See MoreTino Felly
