These are DeWils Custom Cabinets www.dewils.com, the style is Shaker, wood Maple, and I believe the color we used was Salem Maple 106. Let me know if you have any other questions! - Kristen

I have always been attracted to the Carmel-by-the-Sea houses designed by Comstock...the interiors are often decorated casually, with comfy sofas, chairs, maple & cherry furniture and nature-inspired art and accessories. Big fantasy. In real life, we are retired on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and live in a 1200 sq.ft. condo one block off a large town's Main St. and two miles from any beach. Except for the building and location, we have the rest...not sure if our decor is English casual, English coastal or ???, but I wouldn't change it, except to buy better quality sofa and chairs.

Hello Lucy, Yes I think Minnie's idea of office in the end small space of the living room is a gr8 idea.. It makes use of what is otherwise an awkward space.. Any way to take out the two walls 1 between living and dining, so you have a completely open plan area? And 2nd between kitchen and dining? May lose 2m on that bit of wall but it's long enough for a galley kitchen on the far wall. This would make for a nice flow between rooms. The door going into the study could (if a divider was put in).. walk in to a tiny loo/cloakroom.. with window.. If just over a meter wide could be achievable.. Back to wall loo and shower if wet room style.. Then put another door in at other end for the pantry/utility.. Would be big enough for a walk in pantry/storage. Or you have the door opening from kitchen side.. Think this could still be achievable as you still have two sides for kitchen.. Do like the two french doors in both kitchen and living room gr8 for entertaining.. Going to be fantastic! : ))

Hi, lavender is a good choice but wouldn't necessarily keep the weeds down. Bark mulch is the same, even with a weed barrier underneath, over time the weeds will find space to grow. I know because I tried it last year, it kept down the majority of weeds tho. Your best bet is an evergreen ground cover, vinca minor and ajuga are both compact, low growing and will spread quite quickly. Also have a look at campanula and geraniums, not always evergreen but good ground covering plants. This site has some good suggestions: https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=818 If it were me I'd plant perhaps a mix of three different plants for variety. Juniper 'blue carpet', euphorbia for height, and ajuga or campanula 'fairy bells' next to the lawn. Oh, and pop a lavender near to the door for fragrance. Hope this helps:)
