Need help with colours so I don't end up with bland!
Comments (14)Is that lime green back splash something that is permanent or easily removed? If it's permanent, my thinking is to go something neutral and do lime green accessories - then you can change it up when you get tired of them....See MoreDon't know what I'm doing here
Comments (2)Thanks for your response mayfly182. In response to your questions, I opened the blinds and took pics in the daytime. However unfortunately because my building is in between 2 high rise buildings, we don't get a lot of light in. The windows in the house might have a slight tint also to prevent the neighbors from looking in, If need be, I can have that replaced to create more light. We do tend to keep the blinds closed for the most part. But that's also because It doesn't seem to make a difference much when we open them. What do I hate about it? Well I feel we failed at what we wanted to achieve. I wanted something contemporary with a nice mix of bold colors accomplished either with the wall paint or by proper accessorizing. We unfortunately started off on the wrong foot. We painted the house first without having a proper direction, and it was downhill from there. It doesn't have the wow factor you feel when you walk into a well designed room with properly matched colors. Im not crazy about the wall colors or the color of the furniture. I am open to changing the fabric colors or replacing them if need be (last resort). What do I want to keep? Im open to anything. I love my reclining chair + projector/screen. Would like to keep that. When we moved in, the floor had green tiles. But because of the kids, we went with a black carpet. We have no center rugs. I am open to replacing the carpet to a different color. The blinds were recently installed about 4 months ago. We had curtains before but took them off because they attracted too much dust. I have added you to my ideabook that has a bunch of pictures of the living + dining room. I am excited to hear what your ideas are. Looking forward to your response....See MoreNeed help for my bedroom. I don't know where to start!
Comments (12)Hi, I agree with Nancy a white wooden bed would be great in your bedroom especially as you have painted your door white and your skirting is white also, or alternatively a darker grey fabric headboard would also be stunning with white bedding.. Wall colour is a very personal choice but i would recommend a light grey by The little Greene company No. 224 (INOX) i think it would work well with your existing patten and will not be to over powering in the room. See link: http://www.littlegreene.com/paint/colour/grey-paint-colours/inox-224 I would re-sintall the fireplace if you can as would bring back that classic look you are going for, keeping a white surround or shelf would also keep the room feeling light and airy. Pop some frames or artwork up on the walls behind the bed and maybe a mirror about the fireplace (if you re-install) and i think you will have a very stunning bedroom. I hope this is helpful, please email me if you would like to chat. Peach x...See MoreHELP!! what do I do with my island pendants??
Comments (24)Awww thanks Ellie, I was gutted for you to read about your flooring issues! Yea, the guys have really kept things moving forward. Downstairs Should be painted over the next week, then flooring goes down 18-20th..then they can fit the pocket doors into the frames, then they need to be painted! Then we can get all our furniture back! But next exam is the 3rd :-0 so Proper unpacking will be mostly after that! Need to order new wardrobes and a new bed! Can’t believe how much has happened! In the last few months! Back wall - plan is to get a wooden shelf (probably an upcycled scaffolding board one) for all my many recipe books, which will add some life and colour! And a magnetic strip for some knives :-)...See MoreTino Felly
