Please help me with decorating my bedroom.

OK. Got so much help from the lovely people on here doing up my living room last month so I'm back with my bedroom...

It just looks plain. I've tried adding cushions etc but something's is just missing for me. I was thinking of adding wall art over the head board but still not too sure. I also have a large rectangle mirror but I haven't decided where it'd go yet as the room isn't very big.

Help me make this room look nice & erm...modern I guess. I'm open to all ideas. Please don't ignore my post lol. I actually do need your help. Please see attached photos.

Do you like it cozy modern ? Or just plain modern ?. The bedding looks great if your Into these colours I suggest trying to add more vibrant colors. Orange, gold, silver. You could try replacing the brown cabinet to a white table in the corner near your bed, add more metallic accessories and decor. I was thinking of putting some decor on top of your bed, how about this?. & if you wanted to make it more spacey I suggest putting a couple of mirrors.

Agreed you have done well with the bedroom so far, perhaps add some artwork throughout.

I would paint your bed and ivory with a glaze over it ,then it would use texture and layer neutral sheets blankets and pillows since the room is so small ,hang curtains as high as you can and as far out from the window frame as you can to make the window look larger and taller. if you lighten up the bed with paint as suggested the room will look bigger as well ,then you can use side tables in mirror finish for some drama or round with a cloth top even ...with the room being small I would stay neutral and you bedside lamp shade needs to be at a hight that you can lay in bed and read under. The light.too small of a lamp will make them seem out of place ...try a textured soft larger neutral rug under your bed ,larger is better

Hi. Pretty much any colour will go as beige is neutral. I've just had a look in your Ideabook and you seem to favour neutrals with maybe a hint of purple or pink. I'd do something like the Oliver burns pic. Try Dulux just walnut for the walls. Go white for the bedding then add cushions and a throw in the mix of grey/beige and the mauve. I can't really see how the curtains would hang from the pics but if there is limited space to draw them back then don't go too dark on the curtains but keep them neutral. Add a patterned cushion to the chair in the mauve (can this be positioned elsewhere?) and also a light rug with lots of texture under the bed. I agree would add bedside cabinets and lamps.

At the risk of contradicting previous advice, warm colours suit a dark and north facing room much better. If you are set on blue, then I would go with a rich dark blue - Stiffkey has been mentioned and it is an awesome shade. You could then do the paintwork to co-ordinate with the wardrobes to tie them in, and use patterned or textured soft furnishings as a bridge between the two colours. Embracing the fact that the room is dark rather than fighting it gives you the chance to make it a cosy nest, with plenty of texture to break up big blocks of colour and make it even more warm. A blackout blind and soft full patterned drapes will get around the radiator under the window issue and add more interest. I see you have metallic lamps - more metallics and and clever use of mirrors will help reflect any light you do have in the day, and your low level lamps will help make it warm and intimate at night with reading light as a bonus. Hi Sophie. Have you considered a feature wall for behind the bed? I think a faux panelling looks great with this style of bed. You could team it with Something like ammonite by farrow and ball or a warm white or pale grey. A few pics in your ideabook have wood floors but if this is out maybe look at a colour similar to the padded headboard but a shade or so lighter, a sisal might be nice for texture. You seem to like neutrals so I'd mix shades of the grey and beige for curtains and accessories but add different textures and patterns. I think the bed will look great with a couple of throws and a few cushions. Id get samples of everything though to see how the colours work together. Definitely wood for the chest, perhaps antique for a bit more character? Depending on how much storage you need these side tables with antique mirror tops would look nice as bedsides and perhaps a velvet chair for the bay? A chandelier would look lovely or a textured contemporary pendant light, there are a couple of nice feather ones around :)

I agree you definatley need some art work or color on the wall. From the photos your curtains look way too long also maybe hem them. what does the rest of the room look like?
